El Alquimista Maó — Restaurant in Maó

I recently visited this bar and had one of the worst experiences imaginable. The owner was incredibly rude and obnoxious. When a customer politely asked a simple question about the drink menu, the owner snapped and started ranting angrily. His behavior was completely unprofessional and made everyone in the bar uncomfortable. The atmosphere was tense, and it felt like we were walking on eggshells the entire time. It’s clear that the owner has no respect for his customers, and his anger issues make the place unbearable. I would never recommend this bar to anyone. Optimal service. Excellent atmosphere. Went to watch the Euros semifinals (Spain vs. France) and it was by far the best place within the harbour. I've seen some negative reviews about that very same day but to be honest I reckon they simply are just resented frenchman. The bar was fully crowded yet the service was always impeccable. Kevin (the owner) was busy, yes, but always had a smile on his face and Charlie (the cook) kept coming outside to check on all the customers. And to do that specially on such a busy day is what makes me keep coming back. Definitely worth visiting and befriend them, they will treat you like family!

P.S. It is worth mentioning that they speak fluent English...

Me and my boyfriend casually came here on our first day in Menorca. We were starving and everything else was close due to the hour. This was a incredible surprise! Staff was super awesome ( we were served by the owner that actually started serving food a bit earlier than normal because he realize we were super hungry), atmhosphere was great : a cosy spot by the river a bit distant from the touristic caos. Drinks and food were reasonable priced , and more importantly incredible !
