This is one very very good restaurant situated very close to Mercado de San Anton.
The restaurant follows a bit the fusion approach hence the name Bazaar but is still very Spanish. Which is actually a good thing.
The restaurant is nicely decorated and it has a very pleasant ambiance.
There are a lot of tapas in the menu which are delicious and quite large. Come to think of it there is not much difference between a tapas and a main course including size, complexity and price.
The quality of the food is very good and the place it is actually relatively cheap for what it offers. In some other reviews there were "complains" that this tries to present as a posh place and it is really not. I have seen many places like that but this one is not the case. I would say it is moderately upscale without trying very hard and that is actually the point.
Some of the dishes were just above average and a bit inconsistent in execution. We went there several times and one time one of the risottos was overly salted but before it was very good. Some other dishes were really really good and innovative. But again this is not a Michelin star restaurant and it is not what it wants to be.
Overall the place is actually great and we really enjoyed it...
Read moreI really wanted to love this place.
Location. Excellent, on a street corner in Chueca, a lovely part of Madrid. The restaurant is bright & elevated from the footpath (probably not very suitable for disabled travellers)
Decor: Again excellent. Bright, White, Wood, Ceramics, Books, Spanish food products. Lovely room
Atmosphere: None. We sat down at 6pm. Only one other occupied table in the room. We appreciate this is not a normal time to eat in Madrid
Service: Very eager. With so few patrons, our waiter was dancing attention on us
Menu: It read well. Lots of interesting possibilities. Possible to order tapas or a more conventional starter, main, dessert. Good value.
Wines: Again lots of good value. Several wines available by the glass (including Cava)
Food: We ordered (1) Gazpacho of the set menu which was excellent (2) Vegetable gyoza from tapas which was ok (3) Beef Burger of the set menu - small portion, mediocre (4) Salmon taco of the tapas which was ok (3) Mussels in yellow curry sauce which again was only ok (5) A dessert of the set menu See pic for pricing Overall Food was only ok. This is such a shame when the restaurant is so good on...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant and I must say, it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The ambiance was warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a cozy meal in Chueca. The menu offered a variety of options, from daily specials to a la carte dishes, and the wine selection was impressive.
I opted for the octopus dish and it was absolutely delicious - cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The staff was attentive and friendly, making sure that my dining experience was enjoyable. Despite some negative reviews, I found the service to be top-notch and the food to be of high quality.
Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal in Madrid. The combination of tasty food, good vibes, and excellent service makes it a must-visit spot in the city. I will definitely be returning...
