I went a couple of times last month. The 1st with a friend and we absolutely loved it. 🥔🍅🌱The baked potatoes crowned with quinoa, tomatoes and parsley found their way to my heart. I also ordered the Sony Lasagne and asked for it to be gluten free. 🥦It was also really nice but the side broccoli was undercooked and a bit hard to eat. The sauces on the plate were delicious. 🥬The Spinach seemed like it hadn't been washed properly (if washed at all) as you would get the crunch from the remaining soil in them. 🍹We also had a juice that was good.
The 2nd time, a few days after, I took my family (who isn't vegan) for my birthday as I thought it would be a great place to leave a good impression on them. However the experience was nowhere close to the 1st. 🕕We ordered 3 menus of the day that we thought were never going to come. The waiter had to come back to the table 4 times even after 30min of ordering to change our choices as they had run out of what we wanted. We were quite upset as someone who arrived and placed their order after us received the empanadas we had been told (after ages of waiting for our food) were out of stock. 🍲The soup tasted like packet soup. Mine was cold and my aunty's was boiling hot. 🥗The Spinach in the Couscous bowl was again crunchy. The lasagne tasted just okay after the whole experience. 🍡For dessert as there was nothing left from the original menu of the day, we had a little banana chocolate shake and fruit sticks.
If it hadn't been for the 1st experience I would have rated 1-2 stars and said I would never return. 🌱 Vegetarian restaurant with a good selection of vegan options 🙋🏼♀️ Staff were nice, service slow 🏠 I would avoid going for lunch as it gets busy and seemed like there aren't enough staff. The evening I spent there was lovely. 💶 Around 15€/person. Worth it the 1st time....
Read moreMy partner and I visited Sanissimo for a lunch on our first day in Madrid. Our overall experience hasn’t been positive at all, unfortunately, and I’m giving it 4 stars just because the food was ok and the place is entirely vegan.
We found this place on HappyCow so we knew it was 100% vegan which is amazing. We wanted to have a quick lunch before going on to discovering Madrid but we found an incredibly disorganized and slow service (we had a starter + two wraps and we spent there over 1 and a half hours). To be be fair to the staff members, I am pretty sure that they were doing their best and they were all working very hard. However something certainly went wrong in the process as it is not acceptable that we had to wait nearly 10 minutes just to be approached and brought the menu, and then another 20 minutes after that to order. The food took very long to be served too.
On top of the slow service, we didn’t like sitting in the basement either. The place looks like a castle from the Middle Ages and there is no internet connection. The waiter even struggled to process the card payment because of the internet connection.
I would certainly give Sanissimo another chance in the future but our experience hasn’t been pleasant at...
Read moreThis review is for the "carnivores" out there wondering if you'll be able to stomach the thought of vegetarian, or even worse, VEGAN food.....
I'm a meat eater, through and through. I eat well marble 1lbs ribeye steaks, I've hauled massive fish out of the ocean and eaten them within minutes of the catch. I don't typically eat at "places like this"
I was walking by and the interior art and decorations caught my eye, so I checked out the menu posted outside. Everything on it sounded appetizing, nothing about fake meat or "near meat". So I decided to give the "Yanomami" sandwich a try. WOW, it has so much flavor and was delicious! It's a burger alternative that stands on its own and makes me wish places that make conventional meat burgers would try harder to give them some better flavors. Highly...
