Let me start by saying that I’m from Latin America and live in South Flordia and Southern California where we have a strong Mexican influence and this place tops most of the restaurants I’ve been to by far! And let me tell you, I’ve been to tons of Mexican restaurants. We started with The Margaritas, I was skeptical at first because I’m actually not a fan of frozen margaritas but these are dangerously delicious( my husband and I had 3 each) . We had the guacamole the vegetable tamales to start and Wow!! I’ve never had a vegetable tamal like that, it had a nice amount of vegetables a masa .. great little appetizer. We then had 4 small tacos , and then picked the best 2 and order more! Lol our favorites were the taco Cochinita and Taco El Ray! Long story short … If you’re craving Mexican food.. definitely come here !

very bad experience. not sure how this place has good reviews. we went to a mexican food place to support on “dia de la hispanidad” To begin, it says “agua fresca” on the menu so i asked “oh what aguas do you have?” & the waitress literally said “cold water… water that is cold” i was like ugh ok.. What “mexican food” place doesn’t know what agua frescas are!? Anyway, i ordered some limonada.. it came w a bug in it 🙂 so i just took it out whatever. THEN i ordered some nachos which on the menu say “with chili carne” so i specifically said “no meat pls, without the meat”. the nachos come out & when the waitress dropped them off she said “here’s the nachos, no carne” THE CHILI CARNE WAS IN THERE so i sent them back. Then, i ordered a quesadilla with JUST cheese. i said just cheese pls *note: there’s different quesadillas with carne, huitlacoche, nopales, etc* when she brings my quesadilla, she says “here’s the just cheese quesadilla” THERES HUITLACOCHE IN THERE. i also sent it back. I ended up not eating, & my friend never got her ONE gringa that she ordered. My boyfriend had some tacos that were abysmal. Would definitely NOT reccomend.

The BEST Mexican little place in Madrid! Not only they environment is really nice, but the food is good and not pricey at all. You can get tacos up-to 2€, but the traditional ones! Which is the best part. No crazy plates that are not Mexican at all. They even have a "secret taco" which was really good. They also have nachos a other platers to share And the M A R G A R I T A S are suuuuuuper good. We tried the guayaba and piña. Both really good, but the piña one was better! Keep in mind it's a small place, so you may wait for a table. We arrived at 8.30pm and it was empty, until 15min later that was packed. 5 stars for sure!

So good!!!! Best pollo quesadillas we ever ordered somewhere in the world. Simple but yet super delicious. Cocktails also freshly made and yummy. Friendly service, good prices… 3 cocktails, 9 quesadillas & 3 tacos = €58 for 2 people. Would definitely come back when in Madrid :) you won’t regret ! EDIT: after reading the one star reviews, i think that some people left the review at the wrong ‘el rey de los tacos’ on Google (there are 2 on Google in Madrid) because this really is not how we experienced it and some people write stuff that are not applicable to this restaurant :)

They'd just opened for evening service and I was the first to arrive. I could have asked for recommendations but my Spanish isn't good enough. So I opted for one of each taco and the cheese and jalapeno tamale. The tamale was the stand out item and if everything else would have tasted as good I'd have been exceptionally happy. Unfortunately a number of the tacos were tough (the ones with fried pork) and some were cold or had no flavour. I'd say 3 of the 7 tacos were nice. Unfortunately I heard a microwave being used far too often. The service was quick so I still tipped 20%

We wanted to try some tacos and went here because it was close and it had good reviews. When we came a very very friendly waiter met us and took our orders. We have never had better nachos and drinks. Tacos were also great. The absolutely best part are drinks!! We had tinto de verano and margaritas and both were the best we ever had. We tried many more at other places in Madrid and nothing compares to this place.. we kept talking how el rey de los tacos had the best margaritas and tinto the whole trip. We will definitely come back sometime.
