Food was not why i wouldn’t come back to this place. Refreshing salad, tasty carbonara with crunchy guanciale, and a delicious tiramisu. It’s a shame it all ruined because of one of the waiter who were rude for no reason. Beside getting told the very first time we entered the restaurant that we only had 1,5 hours to be here and not in a nice way of saying that, we sat down anyway because of the good reviews of the restaurant. The lady who took our order was actually kind, but the other one is just insoportable. Drinks and the salad came rather fast, but after some time, the lady came back to us confirming if we ordered a carbonara or some other menu (couldn’t catch what she was saying) around the time the carbonara was supposed to be there already. Anyway it came, about 15 minutes before we were supposed to leave the place. And this carbonara we were waiting for was just dropped on our table without saying a word. Without even looking at us. Just dropped. It was a delicious carbonara with quite generous amount of guanciale, but we ate it in silence because we both were pissed. A simple smile or any kind gesture would make up all the time we waited for it. A man came to us to ask how was the carbonara, talked to us nicely in a friendly way, which i think the only thing made me smile when i was there was because of his warmth. When asked for the bill, that very same rude waiter again just dropped the bill rudely it even made a sound of the box hitting the table. We checked the bill where at first they put the bread we did not order so we had to correct it. I would not expect this kind of experience from this level of a restaurant in this price range. It is not cheap, the least we deserve is getting treated with basic respect. Good food is simply not enough when you leave a place feeling disrespected and unwelcome. I suggest anyone who values a pleasant dining experience to...
Read moreThe food was good, but it is extremely weird that you have to pay double for a simple plate of pasta.I've been in many cities and restaurants in Spain and i've never heard of 'you have to pay double' to get a single plate of pasta. The menu was also in Spanish and there was no option for an english translation(even when you open the site through the QR code). The place isn't very friendly toward tourists. The waitress was also talking with someone over the phone the entire time and missed our calls a couple of times because she was talking. Everyone was served a lot before us(we ordered first and the orders were simple things that dont take much time to make). Compared to other restaurants in Madrid, the water bottles were so small, and the wine wasn't even close to being the right amount as it was said in the menu. The bread and lobster were good, but the pasta had too much black pepper and was pretty much unedible. It could give an italian chef a heart attack. The fish in the Baccala In Agliata All'Algherese was pretty much raw. Overall, not friendly towards tourists.
Edit:As a reply to the restaurant,I have a few things to add. 1.I tried using the online menu but it wouldn't switch to English. 2.The plates had food left in them, and none was wiped clean,so I don't really know which table you've looked at. 3.Most countries at least make sure that their online menus work. 4.Madrid is a country with a lot of tourism,so of course not all visitors would be able to speak the language.I am learning Spanish, but I'm not a professional. 5.Nowhere was it said that it wasn't tourist friendly. 6.For the sake of other clients, please fix your online menu.

Read moreIt’s a shame that rude customer service from one of the waitresses ruined our experience enough to never want to come back. The food is really tasty, but from the first moments we’ve been addressed very rude, which you wouldn’t expect from a restaurant of this level. We were 15 minutes late for our booking because of an accident happening on our way there, out of our control. First moments, we were told we’d have to leave 1.5 hours after our booking time. It was weird but okay. After finishing salad, our pasta took a long time to arrive - 15 minutes before we “had to leave”. The waitress just threw it on the table without saying a word. When asked for a bill, initially she included the bread (€3.8) which we refused from the very start so we had to ask them to correct it. Again, bill thrown at a table like we’re unwanted there. Because pasta arrived late we didn’t leave at the time they warned us - we left around 2 hours after initial booking time - and there were a number of empty tables, which makes me wonder - why did they want us out of it that fast, even before we sat at our table? This is not a good look
The other lady and the chef were nice, but just one rude person is enough to never want to eat there again, despite...
