Was last here in 2017…. And it’s changed for the worse. We really wanted a pasta fix so decided to come back here. Sadly it was a bad idea. We saw some nice food come like garlic pizza bread with cheese….whilst sat at our small 4 seater table waiting to be served. Sunday in August . Poor waitress on her own- Ran off her feet. Our youngest wanted meatballs. Then we saw the table beside us served the meatballs . Five served per portion served in a small round dish- tapas portion size for 11€! So, we’re in an Italian restaurant and wanted red wine. The cheapest bottle is 25€! Chianti is 28€! ‘7€ ‘ for a GLASS of wine! We asked to see the wine. Cheap rubbish! Even the top places with roof top terraces here in madrid don’t charge that! We got an overall sense of being ripped off here. Poor tourists! Please beware! We live here and can compare places and prices. - here are ridiculous prices! Read the other reviews too! We told the waitress the prices were just silly . But what can she do? It’s not her fault. Obviously greedy mgt! Anyway we left. Absolutely starving and ready to pay for a nice meal with good wine but not ready to be cheated and pay greedy mgt- no way! Left out of the door and 50m on the right we found a fab bbq Brazilian place. We’ve no intention i of ever going back to Graizze blah blah blah ….no thank you! I now know why the menu is not posted on the web… so here you go folks , I’ve copied it for you. Take care and beware, bit of a tourist trap.

It is a quite pricey place as a breakfast can cost you 7 Euro or more. But it is located near Plaza Mayor and opens early. The croissant is okay. Coffee is above average. The best thing I like about this restaurant is that the manager is a very friendly person who will talk with you proactively and share with you about his thoughts. The strategy seems to work and has attracted a few old customers who feel very at home here. If you have an extra penny and like to socialize, it's definitely worth a try.

BUENA COMIDA, BUENA ATENCIÓN... PERO CARA:La verdad es que el local cuando lo ves es bonito. Te apetece entrar porque está muy coqueto con un aire de italiano muy chulo.La verdad es que engancha.NO TE DEJES LLEVAR POR EL PRIMER IMPULSO SI NO QUIERES GASTAR MAS DE LO PRESUPUESTADO.Pero debí haber sospechado desde primer momento ya que está en la calle Mayor, una de las zonas más turísticas de Madrid. En estos sitios lo más normal es que te peguen un rejonazo. La comida es cierto que estaba muy buena, se notaba que era comida italiana, pasta italiana. Pero la cantidad no era exagerada, más bien poca cantidad(lo cual no justifica el precio), y la masa de la pizza estaba bien pero no era excepcional. También es cierto que el personal era encantador, especialmente el camarero que nos atendió. En resumen: se puede comer comida italiana de igual o mejor calidad en Madrid a un precio mucho más económico. Es preferible entrar en una Tagliatella en Madrid que por el mismo dinero o menos comes el doble. Si eres un guiri te va a gustar y no te va a parecer caro, si eres un madrileño busca otro sitio si valoras tu dinero.

Food was okay. Waitress was nice. Unfortunately this place intentionally ripped us off. They tried to charge us 4 euros more for a glass of wine, than the price on the menu. We made them correct this.

Then they don't show the price of refrescos like soda, agua on the menu. You think it will be normal for the area...but no!!! They charged us 4.00 euros for a bottle (the EXTRA MINI bottle size) of coke and another 4 euros more for a sprite.

If you see the other restaurants next door and all around that area, no one charges more than 2 euro for the mini bottle and no more than 2.80 for a regular sized bottle. Soooo dishonest!!!! Never will be there again. Will make sure our friends and family never go there. DO...

Til this day, one of the best pasta experiences my husband and I ever had in our lives! We keep dreaming about visiting Madrid again just to eat here. We were only in Madrid for 3 nights and ate here twice because of how laid back the atmosphere was with INCREDIBLE food. Loved the spaghetti (chitarra style which is rare to find), the truffle agnolotti, and everything else we had - and amazing prices! Not sure if the menu has changed but this place makes everything from scratch and is so fresh. Grazie Mille, you have changed our lives forever!
