The only reason I'm giving one star is because can't review with none! We recently had a booking for 7 people for 8 o'clock last saturday evening and were made aware of their zero tollerance late policy, which I found quite strange for a supposedly good restaurant. We arrived 8 minutes late after beating our way through the city as there was no vehicular access to the city that night because of a public concert, unbeknownst to us i might add. When we arrived we were met by a waitress who was about to take us to our table before this lady, (sadly it was the manager) quickly intervened and took over, it was at that point I could see what was coming, we were counted like sheep , told that we could have a table for 5 (as the other two people had not arrived yet ) or stand out in the rain and que, we pleaded with her but as iron faced and rude as someone could be she refused us our table. In all my years eating out I've never been treated like this, you'd get a better reception in a chipper, possibly where she belongs. Outside there were as many others standing in the rain due to same circumstances, absolutely shocking service, soon to be out of business if this is how their front of house is managed!!! Go to McDonalds if you have to choose, at least you'll be welcomed and treated...

A very cute restaurant in the central area of Madrid. I would make a reservation especially for weekends as we saw many people turned away on a Friday night. It’s a diverse menu with a €19.60 three course option (even available Friday nights!).

The starters were quite good. The crispy aubergine with chili sauce was perfectly crispy and the sauce had a nice spice. The special bread with tomato was nicely toasted and topped with fresh tomato.

The entrees were mixed. My husbands duck confit was tender and delicious. It was served with potatoes and a rich sauce. The chicken with Brie sauce was okay. The gnocchi seemed to be missing the sage butter mentioned on the menu.

For dessert we tried the torrija perfecto. Quite good. A tasty French toast with some custard and some caramel topping. A delicious ending to a good dinner.

I like the wine list. Many very reasonably priced options, by the glass and bottle. Service was good, friendly and timely.

I will definitely be back to try more...

We were greeted very unfriendly by one of the staff members. Although we made a reservation through the restaurant webpage they insisted that reservations are not taken and we didn't have one. We were 8 and apparently the largest group they could take was 7 on a big square table, because they were not putting all the empty tables that were in a row together (although they were almost touching). The restaurant was empty at that time. The table was for 7 because on one side it had one and not two chairs.... However two of the sides were a banquette, so we tried and fit fine. We had one person on one side and three on the other. We could have just left... Still, we were hungry and we gave it a go. Luckily the rest of the staff were friendly and nice although sometimes they took way too long to notice us. The food was nice and reasonably priced and we had a good time. If it wasn't for the initial negative experience I would have given a...

TLDR - Great location (near the Prado), tasty food (got the cod), service was prompt although a bit rushed towards the end, nice menu, upscale vibe in the restaurant, good prices and value

Mediterranean food with a touch of Asian. The green salad had a strange combination of kale, avocado, vinaigrette & wasabi but everything matched perfectly. Very tasty. The tuna tataki was too salty for my taste. I think if the sauce came separately it would have been better. In comparison, the cod was perfect and the samfaina (Catalan tomato & aubergine sauce) accompanied it nicely. The average desserts in town are too sweet for my taste, but the raspberry with the yogurt soufflé was perfect for me. Side information: Note that the gentlemen toilets are labeled with a “C” (for “caballeros”?), and ladies are with an “S” (“señoras”? — wouldn’t it be a “D” for “damas y caballeros”? otherwise it would be 2 “S”, “señoras y señores” 🧐😵‍💫)
