Terribly unfriendly. Sad and unfortunate that they treat kind people this way, who are coming to give them business and support. We came late, 4 of us, it was going to be a quick stop for one birthday glass of wine. There were a few tables completely OPEN. They looked unique and also with 4 of us, a table would allow us to talk and see each other. He was extremely rude immediately upon speaking with him. And cut me off and asked “are you eating food” and I said we are only drinking. He pointed to the bar top with stools and said “not eating, then go there” with an aggressive tone and made a gesture to get away from him. I told him we were hoping for one of the tables so we can be together and talk, I said we promise to be less than 15-20 minutes if he could please allow us to be there quickly. He got more rude and said go to the bar. I then asked for a little kindness, explained that it’s my girlfriend’s birthday and we will be fast. He was terrible. He walked away from us and gave us more gestures.

We were very nice and respectful throughout. This was unusual and I would think any business would be ashamed of the behavior of a manager (or any staff) from their business.

If this is what they find acceptable, and how they treat people, I highly suggest avoiding this place and instead give support to a smaller, authentic place that is happy to...

I called and booked a table for two at 4pm and they confirmed the booking. When I arrived they said they were closed. It was after mentioning we had a reservation that they informed us that they were going to close at 4:30pm. Then I overheard an older woman who appeared to be in charge speaking to her colleague trying to refuse us mentioning that they had no bookings ( she was talking in Spanish and I speak English but I understand and speak a bit of Spanish). I spoke to her And confirmed the mobile number I called to book however she kept saying she didn’t remember which was strange because my call with her was only 30 minutes prior to our booking. As we did not feel welcome , we chose to spend our money elsewhere. It would be better if they avoided to take the booking or at the very least informed us the proper working hours. It would have avoided a lot of stress and also time spent...

I love this place. The food is great and the atmosphere is elegant (and even impressive), but the service is lacking.

For example, my father asked for a glass of water with his ice and the hostess argued with us and insisted that ice was not needed because the water was already cold. We had to ask another person for a glass with ice and it was brought right away.

Another example is that the waiter was impatient with my elderly parents. I speak Spanish and could translate, but he was impatient when they needed extra moments to think and choose. At one point, he became impatient waiting for me to translate and started trying to bark things at my parents in an almost incomprehensible English (which only slowed things down because now we had to figure out what he was trying to say in English).

The last time I was in Madrid and ate here, I did not have this poor experience...

The food is very good. Probably the only restaurant in the city center that isn’t overpriced. Recommend it 100%, if you are near sol, this is the place to go. The food is quite cheap, and it is very good. I would say that you should have the paella here, it is amazing. Although the minimum order quantity of for 2 people. You can also order other seafood, it is great. I have tried the meat, but there is nothing special in it. 1. Paella 2. Seafood. The atmosphere is great. It is stylized in an old fashioned way, probably the furniture is 50 years old, but it is very nice. There are not a lot of Tourists, mainly Spanish people in the restaurant. The service is fast, they bring the food like lightning. But during main dinner and lunch times, the place is full and thefore very chaotic. The best restaurant right next to sol. Recommend it.

Got to the restaurant as a group, had a reservation for a table at the evening opening hour but it was fairly easy to get a spot. The restaurant is right in the city centre and it's one of the most visually striking places that you can find in a city full of them. We ordered various dishes to share, of which the croquettes were phenomenal, the fried chicken great, the calamari underwhelming and the rest of them, ok. I was surprised that it wasn't possible to communicate in English and it was a bit of a struggle to get a wine menu - at some point I started feeling like getting wine was a secret menu item! Service was quite slow, although we took a while to decide as well. I'd suggest visiting cause it's a nice experience but don't expect any culinary miracles (except for the croquettes).

Horrendous food, good atmosphere, decent service. We ate here for lunch because the decor looked reasonable. The price was very reasonable including 3 courses and alcohol. However, the entrees were already a letdown, with bland and small portions. All of our main meals were very low quality, with the steak looking measly thin and tasting like rubber, the swordfish being incredibly bland, and the chicken being bone dry. The dessert was even worse, with the cheesecake having the consistency of tofu and the caramel pudding tasting bitter. I would rather they charge more or disclose the quality before luring tourists in, the chefs clearly put no effort into the cuisine. Avoid avoid avoid unless you only care about beautiful decorations and don't care what you put in your mouth.
