Hola, established in 2015, is one of the pioneers of Madrid's specialty coffee scene. They roast their own beans, almost all single origins. For espresso, you can choose between two types of roasts: traditional (chocolatey) and modern (fruity). They also have batch brew and pourover (Orea). For pourover, you can try any of the beans they have in store. The coffee is served in lovely artisan mugs. There's a small food menu, consisting of toasts, sandwiches, granola, porridge and sweets. We only tried the cinnamon roll, which is great. The place itself is minimalistic. Not particularly inviting to hang out, in my opinion, but you regularly see people reading a book or working on their laptops.

Tampoco reservan.

I visited Hola Coffee Fourquet mid-afternoon and it was fairly busy. I decided to try their Iced Matcha and unfortunately it was disappointing, with a weak matcha flavor overpowered by the milk. The service was acceptable, and the cafe's interior was charming, featuring exceptionally adorable merchandise. It’s a laptop-friendly spot with available Wi-Fi, making it suitable for getting some work done, despite the seating not being the most comfortable. Overall, Hola Coffee Fourquet has a cute ambiance and is a decent place for working, but I wouldn't recommend it for matcha lovers.

This coffee is as good as I get from my favorite speciality coffee spots and roasters at home in Philadelphia. I love East African light roast coffees. I ordered the ready made “filtro” coffee brewed in advance. That day is was Kenia (Spanish spelling). It was quite good, if a little tepid in temperature. That was the same at another specialty coffee cafe that I visited. I bought a bag (250 g or about 9 oz) of Burundi beans, which the server (owner?) ground for me. The price was similar to what I pay for 12&13 oz. at home. I Learned my lesson from a previous trip to Europe and brought a one cup cone and filters so that I could enjoy the type of coffee I most treasure during my 4 week stay in Europe this year. The Burundi is delicious. Hola also brews the typical espresso based drinks as well. I read a review of Hola that called it the best coffee in Europe. I don’t have enough experience throughout Europe to confirm that assessment, but I...

I've tried a variety of the coffees here and really like the iced latte the most. The vegan cookies are also delicious!! A nice place to enjoy a book and coffee, but indoor seating is limited. They also have a walkup window outside to order take away. Staff has always been nice and the interior is unique.

Update: My most recent visit wasn't as pleasant as the previous. The people working were different than who have been there before. I ordered a coffee and sat down to wait. While waiting, I noticed the woman working was preparing the orders of people who came after me. I believe these people were regulars and friends of hers, as she was talking with them a lot. Once she realized I was watching, she finally prepared my coffee, but this was after she made 3 other people's orders that came after me. Honestly, a little...

Si no, mejor otro lugar.

I want to like this place, and I’m torn in half. On one hand, you’re paying American prices for coffee that, while perfectly good, just doesn’t fit with the neighborhood. It’s a third-wave hip joint where you will overpay and then probably wait 15 minutes like I did. HOWEVER, if you are in a pinch, needing to work on a laptop, and needing to get out of the house, this is one of the few places that will accommodate you on the weekend (other, more realistically priced options around during the week). One star for the prices and the insta-obsessed crowd, stars two and three for letting me work uninterrupted for a couple of hours. If you go, just know where you’re going and what...
