The Holy Grail of Ramen – Makami Madrid Is an Absolute Masterpiece!

If you’re searching for the ultimate ramen experience in Madrid, STOP RIGHT NOW—because Makami is the place. This isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a culinary temple, a sacred ground where every bowl of ramen is crafted with soul, precision, and pure magic.

From the moment you step in, you’re transported into a warm, inviting atmosphere with the intoxicating aroma of rich broths simmered to perfection for hours. The service? Impeccable. The staff treat you like royalty, guiding you through the menu with the expertise of Michelin-star sommeliers—except instead of wine, they’re pairing you with the ramen of your dreams.

Now, let’s talk about the real star of the show: the ramen. Every spoonful is an explosion of umami that will leave you wondering if you’ve ever truly lived before this moment. The broth is divine—deep, complex, and silky, coating your mouth in pure satisfaction. The noodles? Absolute perfection—springy, chewy, and made with love. And the toppings? From melt-in-your-mouth chashu to the perfectly marinated eggs, each element is crafted with obsessive attention to detail.

And if you’re feeling adventurous, their specialty bowls will absolutely blow your mind. The flavors are bold, innovative, and yet deeply authentic—a rare balance that only true ramen masters can achieve. Pair it with their gyoza or a cold beer, and you’re officially in food heaven.

Makami isn’t just a restaurant. It’s a religion for ramen lovers, a place where each visit feels like a once-in-a-lifetime experience. If you haven’t been yet, go now. RUN. And prepare to have your taste buds...

Makami operates as a ramen restaurant that also serves dimsum, which is quite interesting given the fusion of Japanese and Chinese cuisines. In fairness, the owners and staff are Chinese, which explains the authentic approach to the dimsum offerings and creates a unique cross-cultural dining experience.

The dimsum results proved mixed - the siu mai was decent, meeting basic expectations for this Cantonese staple without particular distinction. However, the hakaw crystal shrimp dumplings were terrible, featuring thick skin and barely any shrimp filling, mostly just cheap filler. This poor execution of what should be a delicate dumpling classic suggests quality control issues in the dimsum preparation.

The gyu don (rice with beef) emerged as an excellent dish, offering a very generous portion of beef served over rice that provided outstanding value and satisfying flavors. This Japanese-style preparation demonstrated the kitchen's ability to execute dishes properly when they focus on quality ingredients and proper technique.

The chashu ramen was decent - not the best ramen available, but not the worst either. This middle-ground execution suggests competent but unremarkable preparation that meets basic ramen standards without achieving memorable excellence.

For overall value of money, I give Makami 3.5 stars. The restaurant succeeds in providing affordable cross-cultural dining with some standout dishes like the gyu don, though inconsistent execution across different menu categories prevents it from reaching higher ratings. The concept is interesting and the pricing fair, making it a reasonable option for casual dining despite the...

Really nice restaurant, came here as I saw on TikTok a review and was interested in trying, usually those reviews have nothing to do with what it is but I must say I was pleasantly surprised as the flavors of the food were amazing and the staff superb.

The options of food are not that plenty but what they have is worth it and absolutely delicious, the only downside, if there is, is that they have some spicy that you can add but it wasn’t really spicy it was just enough, but I guess is more to adapt to the public they serve.

I got a ramen labeled as suggestion by the chef, flavors were good and really well balanced, also got 2 entrees, one was the Pork Xioalongbao traditional one and the other one was with shrimp, they were super nice and tasty. Food wise they have really great options and would look forward to try on another occasion when visiting Madrid.

Lastly, the service of everyone was amazing and always a welcoming experience for what it looks like, really helpful with any questions and also because is ramen you are prompt to get some dirty clothes but I asked if they have like a tissue with alcohol or something for spills and they got me something they use and even told me were to buy it, those small details in the service industry are very well received, thank you for the experience and...

Makami, also written as Oguchi-no-Magami, is a divine beast in Japanese mythology, and also a great Asian spot to eat Ramen in Diego de León street in Madrid. Described as a ramen temple, the “Mazesoba Taiwanes” honors this description. I would also suggest ordering the Ebi Fry Taco and Eel rice bowl. The Eel was crunchy and seasoned between sweet and savory. The other dishes we ordered were good but could have been better with more protein. The Salmon Taco and the Duck Bao were delicious in flavor, but needed more Salmon in it, as well as Duck. The Duck was cooked and seasoned to perfection. The Tan Tan Ramen was very normal in taste compared to the order dishes. Finally the Kirin beer will cheer up your asian experience!
