Planta Z Food Truck & Terrace — Restaurant in Madrid

Last two days of a two week vacation in Spain and we stayed at the Canopy Hilton Hotel. The hotel was a good experience for the most part but we were told by the desk to check the restaurant on the terrace. It sounded great. We ended up going up there to eat because we didn’t feel like going out after a long day of travel. As we got off the elevator the music was blasting some up beat club music which were okay with. Only 3 tables were there at 8:30. We were greeted right away which set the expectations for good service, at least that’s what we thought. We looked around and noticed that there was only 1 server in the whole establishment. Why there would only be one server/bartender at a hotel restaurant is beyond understanding, let alone a Hilton. Literally he was the only employee. We waited for what seemed to be forever before we could order drinks. A few other tables had started to come in which we thought that that would make the wait even longer. Finally, what looked like a manager, came out and started to help the server. When the server came and took our order we had wanted to place a food order as well which he explained to us that their kitchen was closed or not open at the moment or cook was gone but he would call someone to open it up. This was right before 9pm which is normal restaurant hours for Spain. Finally the cook shows up and we place our order. Food was not even that good and tiny portions for what you were paying for plus the bread they served the food into was very stale. After we were done eating our server never showed. The manager ended up closing our tab. My wife and I were very confused through the whole ordeal. We ended up going to find another restaurant outside of the hotel. Very sad to see at such a...

Planta Z is Canopy’s hotel terrace (do not expect a rooftop). The place is super cozy and nice, the night was cold and they put a heater next to us. The service was super friendly and helpful! We had some wine, while a girl was playing some acoustic music. Regarding food, it was quite disappointing. Horrible service in the two times we ate and got drinks at this place. First time my young daughter was given a “sprite” which ended up being a spritzer with alcohol. Second day went to bar to order, told to sit and someone would serve us, no one came, my wife went to the bar and then I was later told to order from the bar.
