I had a reservation/plan to dine at Marisquería Salamar today. I arrived at 8:00 PM, only to be told that the restaurant was closed and would not reopen until the 28th. There was absolutely no prior notice given via phone, email, or on the booking platform. What makes this worse is that just yesterday I even received a text message asking me to double confirm my reservation for today — yet when I arrived, it was closed. This is unacceptable. On top of that, tonight’s temperature was over 30°C, and I was left waiting outside on the street for nothing. This is extremely unprofessional and a complete waste of my time. Read moreA wonderful restaurant with an extensive menu (also in English). Oscar the waiter was very patient and encouraging with my mediocre Spanish. He is quite the character and by the second night returning, he was welcoming me in like a regular, making suggestions for starters and taking the time to have a short chat. The place has some regulars which is always a good sign and I have had several very enjoyable meals. The coffee brulee with ice-cream is a wonderful dessert and Oscar provides a local shot at the end of the meal. It has become my restaurant in Madrid for the lonely business traveller....
