An honest American tourist review: We came in here when we arrived into Madrid our first day. Place was decently busy for lunch but got seated right away. Staff was friendly but food was tasteless or just seemed to be missing authenticity. It was quite pricey for what we received. Here’s what we ordered: Mixed Rolls - ordered as an appetizer but they were out so we were given a veggie roll option instead which was tasty but inconsistent in quality (some pieces bigger, more well built than others) Salmon Tataki - tasteless, fish was too well cooked and the sauce was overpowering (too sweet) Vegetable Udon - very disappointing, sauce was too sweet; honestly tasted like a microwaveable meal Chicken Kimchi Udon - broth was delicious but you get very little chicken and the kimchi didn’t taste like anything related to kimchi Overall, we were very disappointed leaving Udon. Our bill came out beyond what we thought the food should had been priced at for a lunch place. I recommend trying someplace else, sorry.

my friends and I ate at UDON Chueca for our dinner in Madrid. We figured it would be familiar for us all and the ratings were pretty good! My girlfriend and I got two ramen dishes - she got the Miso Ramen and I had the creamy thai udon. Both were very tasty and standard flavours, textures and ingredients for ramens. I replaced the duck in my ramen with the thai chicken fingers and it was a great substitute! one of my friends got the curry beef and she enjoyed it, but there were too many vegetables and not enough of the broth. my other friend had the chicken pad thai and enjoyed it a lot! The staff were also very nice and the location/atmosphere/restaurant were very nice!

The udon is really bad for a place that's named udon. I got the nabeyaki udon. Udon is from the shelf stable kind of package so it has an acidity to it. The broth was overly salty but had no flavour. Chicken did not taste fresh. The shrimp tempura looked questionable. Spinach is raw. Bamboo shoots needed to be soaked first otherwise it's too salty. 1/5 The chicken Pad Thai was okay, they use actual tamarind in the sauce and not ketchup. 3/5 The octopus in the takoyaki did not taste fresh but the dough was nice and crispy. 4/5

Never coming back here again ! The RACISM that was shown to us by the server was absolutely disgusting! We sat outside with a couple a table away from us and ordered our food. The server told us that we have to pay to get our food since we’re sitting outside. We didn’t think anything of it UNTIL the couple a table away got their food THEN PAID. We wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and thought maybe they ordered something additional. Until two women sat on the table next to us and ordered without paying! Then they got their drinks without paying (the couple also had drinks on their table before they paid). At this point I understood that it was because of our ethnicity ! How degrading ! Don’t recommend this...

A fake Japanese restaurant, not a real one, but merely made by staff who didn't even know what the real Japanese food was, menus were filled with other Asian and Chinese cuisines which are not related to Japanese food, but their restaurant is known as :udon, typically a fake restaurant to lure tourists to earn fast money.

The staff was okay except there was one Indian who was rude, not even knowing the basic manner as a customer service. I was holding a few euros of one Japanese beer and paying for it, but this Indian just simply answered: you can't take the drink out, you need to drink it here ( in a rude tone and firm voice).

If you were thinking about getting real Japanese food, forget...
