Our evening at LOV Olivia Valere started with great enthusiasm. We were looking forward to the dinner show and a special night out. Unfortunately, the experience did not live up to our expectations.

After arriving, it took at least 25 minutes before anyone came to take our order. While other guests were already enjoying their starters, we felt completely overlooked. Throughout the evening, it became clear that tables placing larger orders received much more attention, while we had to repeatedly ask just to be served.

When ordering a glass of wine, the service fell short again. After waiting 30 minutes, a bottle was presented to us, even though we had specifically requested a glass. Despite us explaining this several times, the waiter opened the bottle anyway and left it on our table. When we raised the issue once more, the waiter remarked that he would “pay for the bottle himself” and walked away. We found this both unprofessional and inappropriate.

The delays continued all night. When we eventually wanted to order dessert, no one came to take our order. By the time we asked for the bill, we were charged €91, as the minimum spend is €150 per person. While we were aware of this policy, the poor service meant we were not given a fair chance to order more, and by then the kitchen was already closed.

When we expressed our disappointment to the manager, he simply looked at us and walked away without making any effort to address our concerns. This came across as extremely disrespectful.

Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. What began as a promising evening full of excitement ended with frustration and irritation. For us, this was the first and also the last time at LOV...

The restaurant has a nice seating area and the food is good, but the service was extremely frustrating. We waited for 40 minutes without even getting a menu, then another 30 minutes just for someone to take our order. It was obvious that there are far too few waiters for the number of tables.

In addition that we still had 300€ of the minimum charge but the waiter didn't notify us, as other restaurants do.

After finally placing our order, we ate and paid. But as we were leaving, a security guard stopped us and refused to let us leave, claiming we needed proof that we had paid. We were shocked—we told him the waiter never gave us any receipt.

I calmly went to the front desk, spoke to the lady there, and she confirmed that we had paid. She informed the security guard and we were finally allowed to leave.

The whole situation was very upsetting and felt deeply disrespectful to the restaurant’s customers. Honestly, it felt like discrimination—possibly against Gulf nationals—because I later saw other reviews describing the exact same issue.

It is the restaurant’s responsibility to keep track of payments, it should not be the customer’s job to prove they’ve paid.
