It was difficult to find anywhere open for dinner on a Sunday evening at the end of November so despite reading various negative reviews, we thought we would give it a try.

The Yum: The menu offers a selection of starters, pizza, fish and seafood all with the option to combine (and significantly increase the price) with real caviar. Our Gabones Rojas shared as a starter were nicely cooked but only luke warm, despite being served in a fancy stone 'warming' dish. The grilled artichokes were most enjoyable. 3 of us opted for pizza and the 4th turbot. All were only luke warm and disappointing. Fish was dry and the vegetables raw/dry. Pizza is strange - fluffy bread texture edging with the centre 1mm thin and hard but not crispy. As they blobbed cold mozzarella on them, they were all cold. Whole morel mushrooms which had been dried and refreshed were chewy and unappetising. Tiramisu was delicious but lacked any alcohol in it.

The Fizz: The wine list can only be accessed with a mobile phone and qr code. Takes ages to scroll thru and wines are obviously pricey. Served in nice glasses, we opted for a light Garnacha to start for 38eur, and two bottles of Ribera at 45eur.

The Rest: For 75eur per head we expected more. 12eur for bread is excessive. The decor of the restaurant is absolutely stunning and clearly winner with younger clientele who will place emphasis on photos and selfies. The servers clearly try their best but were not especially interested. Luckily we were located near a service station so we were able to attract attention.

Yumfizz rating: A lukewarm 5/10, like their pizza and service. There are too many other much better restaurants around to return to...

Roostiq has quietly become one of the most rewarding restaurants in Marbella. Originally from Madrid, it brings the same farm to table ethos but lets the ingredients do the talking. There’s no overcomplication here. Just clean flavors, excellent produce, and a wood fired kitchen that knows exactly what it’s doing.

Start with the tomato 38. Grown on their own farm, served at peak ripeness, and seasoned just enough to let the natural flavor shine. The tuna tartare is also worth noting. Bright, fresh, and simply delicious. Their summer margarita pizza is another highlight. Crisp, balanced, and carried by those same seasonal tomatoes. If you’re looking for something richer, the LP pizza with truffle is indulgent without being too much.

The Roostiq chicken is excellent. It’s all thighs, grilled perfectly, deeply flavorful and satisfying. But the real standout is the cheesecake. Basque style, creamy, smooth, and honestly one of the best desserts I’ve had in Marbella this summer. Skip the tiramisu. It felt like an afterthought.

The terrace is where you want to be. Elegant and perfect on a breezy night. They also have a private dining room inside that’s tastefully done if you’re coming with a group.

Service was a letdown. The place was busy and the staff seemed overwhelmed. It wasn’t rude, just inattentive. For a restaurant of this level, you expect a bit more polish on that front.

Still, Roostiq hits where it matters. It’s a place that doesn’t try too hard, because it doesn’t have to. The food...

Don’t go here!!!

Very bad experience with waitress Shaila at the door. We made a reservation in 2 weeks in advance. A day before we had 3 more people added to the reservation and it was no problem. On the day of the reservation Shaila (door women) called us and asked if it was okay to be in the private area. We asked her if this was IN the restaurant. She said yes, so was fine by us. Upon arrival we needed to go upstairs since the private area seemed to be upstairs and not downstairs in the restaurant area. We asked to put us back down since we made our reservation weeks ago. But our table was already given to other people, even tough the restaurant was partly empty. We even asked to give us seperate tables so we can sit with our party apart from eachother. Shaila walked away and led us standing in the restaurant, leaving us thinking that she was arranging something with her collegue. After waiting some minutes we realised she led us standing in the middle of the restaurant and she did not talked to us anymore. When we sat down her collegue came to us that we had to leave because that table was for other clients. They were not sorry at all for the miscommunications and did not want to do anything to fix it. Also were very downgraded towards us. Very unpleasant experience with the staff. After reading all this bad reviews we are glad we did not ate at this restaurant because the food reviews are also very bad. Would not...

The restaurant was stunning. Decor was very elegant and on trend. Prices for cocktails to be expected. Starting at 15€ per cocktail. They were very good. But the size of the ice cube in the small glasses were exaggerated therefore the cocktails were in fact tiny in comparison to any other marbella venue. We had the pork belly to start. This was very very good. Superbly smoked and crispy top to perfection almost melted in your mouth. This raised our expectations after seeing the very expensive but limited menu. Then we had the chicken wings. These could have been any chicken wings from any restaurant. Spectacularly unimpressed with the bbq sauce or the whole dish. So when the entrecot arrived it was beautifully presented but lacked in flavor and quite tough so was very disappointing. The entrecot comes with a side portion of chips which were sadly the frozen variety and not very good at that. You would expect hand cut homemade from such an establishment. We also had the artichoke as an accompaniment this was very good. Probably the artichoke and the Pork belly were the only things that were very good and worthy of such a beautiful restaurant. It sadly did not live up to our expectations. And as we are local it was disappointing. Maybe worth another try? Not sure !!
