Restaurante La Nueva Venencia de la Fontanilla — Restaurant in Marbella

DO NOT COME TO THIS PLACE. The waitress Andrea is very rude and the lack of customer service is alarming. They told us we couldn’t have a drink on the outside tables, it was reserved for food only, thus we explained one of us was getting a tapa and they said “that’s not real food”. It took about 20 minutes to bring drinks and they were so stingy they were hesitant to bring us tap water. Andrea then proceeded to tell us the table we were on was reserved AFTER having brought the drinks and demanded us to move to a table which didn’t have enough seats for our party. The restaurant was EMPTY by the way, there were only 2 other tables. She then proceeded to throw cutlery on the table in the direction of a 7 year old child, so I said “how can you throw cutlery to a child” and she told me I need to be more educated and refused to talk to me. She also brought the bill as soon as she could without us asking, as if trying to get us to leave. The fact she was even raising her voice at a customer was astonishing. My mother asked to speak to the manager to which Andrea replied “he’s coming shortly” but the manager wasn’t even there at the restaurant so she lied about it and brought a colleague instead. I explained to him that I would understand the reservation thing if the restaurant was full, but there was literally no one else there, us moving made no difference to them but it did to us as it wasn’t even a table, it was a barrel and didn’t have enough space or chairs for our party. Food has not dissapointed in the slightest, atmosphere is always booming in the good way. And i am dedicating this service review to the main man Simon, he has looked after us all week and let me tell you, he is the life of the party. We were very pleasantly surprised at this local restaurant. We came in at 12 people and we got absolutely outstanding service. The food is excellent and the portions are very big. The waiters accommodated us right away and smiled all throughout our dinner. The food came in fast and we had a very good time. My only recommendation is to change the lighting. The lights are too bright. A softer color or dimmed light would really make that place more attractive inside. It has the flair of an old Spanish bodega and with nice lights, it would be...
