Teppanyaki Samurai — Restaurant in Marbella

Before Covid, it was one of my fave places here in Marbella and we came very often over the years. Yesterday, we went back to have Teppanyaki & sushi and it was a terrible experience.

Definitely, we don’t come back and all was wrong. Quality of the food, sequence of serving, quantity & service. I don’t even mention the price cause everywhere is inflated!

Before Covid, we had to fight for a table, yesterday on a Friday evening, it was empty with one more family joining our table only.

The waitress didn’t understand a word and brought red wine instead of white wine. Could happen. My menue had a salad. It had nothing to do with Japanese food. It was a mayonnaise mixed salad instead of a seaweed salad, the miso soup wasn’t any better. Then nothing came for quite some time, followed by broccoli only which they cooked for the other family. Then another 15 minutes, followed by a small piece of salmon with a lot of fat. Another 15 min and he did the rice (the egg, he threw it into our faces and we were supposed to catch it, it got my dress stained only )followed by a tiny portion of beef. The sauces, he forgot! The waitress forgot our desert. I don’t know if there was anything to choose from, she just brought 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream. I don’t know, if they changed owners, definitely they changed the quality and quantity of the food and service wasn’t existing. Not only that she didn’t speak English, she wasn’t aware of the menue and hardly showed up even though the restaurant was almost empty! Definitely a no-go! Very...

Terrible service. Very average food. We booked a teppanyaki table. We waited 45 minutes for a drink! There was 1 chef to 4 tep tables and the chef was rude and looked like he did not want to be there. Our starters were not cooked teppanyaki and i had to complain for the main course to be cooked and by then the moment had gone so to speak. The food was definitely not outstanding or memorable and this is one of the most disappointing restaurants in the area that i have been too. I would not recommend it at all in any way shape or form. And to top it all, it was an absolute rip off, way over priced. Save yourself a disappointing expensive excuse for a japanese restaurant experience, and book...

14€ for about 100 gr of meat, it's not enough to feed an adult. The answer I got when I suggested to the waitress a more generous quantity (with a higher price) was:

meat has become really expensive "foreigners" don't eat "that much" and prefer a lower price anyways.

Lucky me I am a Spanish-speaking foreigner, but according to the waitress, I did not eat accordingly. Had this dish listed as an appetizer, I wouldn't mind at all. In any case, this restaurant still has many old 5 stars reviews, but I'm afraid these belong to a bygone era, when this place had...
