It’s hard to rate this place because there are a few different factors here. The location is not bad with paying parking around that is not to hard to get.
The design of the place is fantastic. They are selling you the Rosas brand. A cozy spot with beautiful colorful decor, fancy coffee, cute menu magazine style, the use of pink everywhere, from decor, to accents, bathroom, plates etc… it’s a place made for Instagram. Anything that you order it’s 100% Instagram worthy. So I would definitely give them 5 stars for building a brand like this, which is not easy.
BUT
When you build a brand that you want people to remember, you can’t forget the basics or the small details because if you do, the first visit will also be the last one.
Service is just ok. They are not mean. They are not nice. When you push a brand like this, you need your employees to become part of the brand and have the same energy and be as vibrant as it. They didn’t. They looked as they were overworked and had a hard time smiling.
Totally a shop for non-locals. I counted zero locals during my visit there. Prices are also marked up for visitors.
My biggest issue is the ratio price-quality. It’s bad. I don’t have a problem paying a hundred euros for breakfast but I’m expecting for the meal to wow me or at least to surprise me so I want to come back for more.
All food that we ordered was mediocre at best. The poached eggs were mixed with salad and a piece of smoked salmon. The combination of all together didn’t work out. The presentation was just ok.
The American packages are anything but American. I would suggest to the owner of this place to take a trip to any city in the USA and order some pancakes and see if the look or taste anything like the ones we got served. The presentation and color scheme was beautiful but it was three tiny packages with acai ice cream on top and some small pieces of fruit. No syrup at all. Just straight dry mini packages. Maybe change the dish name to “Rosas pancakes”. In America everything is bigger and all packages come with some sort of syrup even if you get ice cream with them.
Their Belgian waffles are anything by Belgian. I would suggest another trip but I see a trend here. At this pace, the owner will have to plan a trip around the world. Waffle tasted like it was frozen and it was just warmed up. It was light and tasteless. Nothing to do with the texture of a Belgium waffle. Super dry with zero syrup. They offer syrup as an option but if you get Nutella, whipped cream, bacon or anything else, then you don’t get syrup and eat your waffle dry as well. I would suggest to add a small side of syrup so people can swallow their waffles.
The rainbow latte for kids had a good flavor but but as far as I know the rainbow have like six colors. This is a blue drink. My kid was asking for his rainbow. 🤷🏽♂️
The crème brûlée latte wasn’t bad but not sure it was seven euros good.
Now… all food was totally instagram acceptable. Maybe this is what you pay for but at almost seven euros for coffee, ten plus euros for a dry frozen waffle and lack of service… the quality doesn’t justify the high price. Because of this, and comparing their prices with other similar places… I would give a straight zero when it comes to food and another zero when it comes to prices.
Their menu is a fancy magazine where you can learn about the history of the brand, the owner and their non-delicious food. As I said earlier, when you have a brand like this, you must take care of all small details to match up the brand. The fancy magazine has the word breakfast misspelled on every single page as “BREKFAST”.
Because they are dog friendly and they have a full page with a dog menu I give them more credit but adding everything up, two starts is the best I can do and it’s all for the design and because they are dog lovers.
I won’t be back unless I decide to become an Instagram influencer. On the meantime I would suggest to the owner to hire somebody that can bring their food quality to the price she...
