Breathe — Restaurant in Marbella

Worst place of Marbella!!!! Dear tourists never ever go to that restaurant. We booked a table on a Saturday night to have a lovely dinner there to celebrate our engagement. They wrote us a email that this day is a special event and for a table you have to spend a minimum of 480€. Since this place got so hyped and they were offering a show we were fine with that price since we wanted to celebrate anyways. So we got there at 7.30pm I said my name at the entrance and they put us inside the restaurant on a table. We were all excited for the show and wondered when it will start. Since we are not really drinking alcohol we thought we just gonna order a lot of food since we payed the 480€ in advance. So we ordered some dishes everything came very fast. the food was ok worth the price. While we were eating our main dish we ask the waiter when is the show finally starting. He explained us that the show is upstairs. The hostess came and explained us that our table which cost us 480€ is waiting for us upstairs. So we ended up paying the dinner downstairs in the restaurant for 160€ On top of the 480 euro that was suppose to be included. Finally after finding out the show was upstairs we were forced to pay an additional 110€ because they gave us a table with the worst view from the show. This was a total rip off. When we ask for the menu we where just able to order some starters or sushi to eat. There was nothing we really liked. We would have love to try out some other dishes from the restaurant downstairs but we were not allowed to. I also couldn’t order any desert because they had no menu for that. So we where forced to order a very expensive bottle of champagne so we at least get something for our money. The show did started and we have to say the show was ok. It was entertainment but not worth all the money we were forced to spend. Later that night I ask again if we really can’t get any desert since we had a new waiter. he was very nice and gave us right away the desert Menu. All in all we were looking for a very good night in a beautiful restaurant with a entertainment show ready to spend some money for some good food. But all we got was a beautiful place which was not organized and made us spend way too much money for some regular food. The hostess and most of the waiters were not friendly and the show was Not worth it. We left very disappointed nobody apologize or made us feel good at this place. We love Marbella and the restaurant here but the restaurant Breathe is a place we will never ever go again...

Dining at BREATHE Marbella was one of the best culinary and lifestyle experiences I’ve had in the area. Located just above Puerto Banús, BREATHE is more than a restaurant – it’s a complete concept combining great food, stylish design, and an eco-conscious philosophy, all wrapped in a relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere.

The first impression is simply stunning. The architecture and design are modern and elegant, with lush greenery, water features, and warm lighting that create a serene and welcoming vibe. Whether you sit inside, on the terrace, or on the rooftop lounge, every space has been carefully curated to feel both luxurious and comfortable.

Service was outstanding throughout my visit. The staff were knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive without ever being intrusive. They took time to explain the menu, made excellent wine recommendations, and ensured that everything flowed smoothly from start to finish.

The food at BREATHE is the true highlight. The menu combines Mediterranean and international flavors with a strong focus on fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Each dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavor – from the starters to the mains and desserts, everything felt carefully crafted. I particularly enjoyed the seafood options and the creative vegetarian dishes, which were equally satisfying. The cocktails were another standout: innovative, refreshing, and perfectly balanced, making them ideal for both pre-dinner drinks and after-dinner lounging.

The overall atmosphere is what makes BREATHE so special. It manages to be lively and social while still offering an intimate and relaxed dining experience. The rooftop terrace is a fantastic spot for ending the evening with music, drinks, and panoramic views of Marbella.

BREATHE Marbella is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates fine dining, stylish surroundings, and excellent service. It’s the perfect place for a romantic dinner, a night out with friends, or simply to enjoy the very best of Marbella’s lifestyle...

This place based on quality of food and drink alone would have got 5 stars.

There are several issues which I think people should be aware of when dining.

When you’re spending £250 on a meal for 2 people, being charged £2 for parmesean, (which in my opinion should come as standard as an option for a pasta dish) is a bit cheeky. As is paying £5 for bread - I know lots of places charge for bread nowadays, however I think when you dine at a luxury restaurant, a piece of bread should be complementary, considering we paid £45 for each main.

Then we move on to the roof top bar....

Cocktails were immaculate - however the barman made me the wrong cocktail (then after trying to convince me that I said the wrong name - which is a terrible attitude to me anyway) proceeded to make me the correct drink, and asked my friend who liked the incorrect cocktail if she wanted to keep it. Obviously I had already tasted it and so he said we could ‘just have it’ - it then later appeared on the bill. Cocktails are £17 here, and whilst I’m not cheap, I’m pretty principled and the Barman’s language was incredibly suggestive as ‘my mistake, it’s on the house’

The manager then spoke to us, was extremely rude and asked us that if 50% of the cocktails were incorrectly made, would they have to honour it for everyone, to which we replied ‘I would hope you’re not making mistakes 50% of the time’ it almost makes me consider whether these ‘mistakes’ are deliberate?

What a shame, it completely takes away from the great service we had from the waiters and the hard work that the chefs put in to making the food so exquisite.

Please consider this honest feedback to improve on your diners experience, just because people WILL pay this money for a meal, does not mean you should cut corners in...
