The Garden Pool — Restaurant in Marbella

Legendary MC Cafe has gone 😭 Instead we now have a 'healthy' restaurant in the same room and terrace.

Bread is home made and a matter of personal taste if it is for you. Fortunately they are still serving their own legendary olive oil and Himalaya salt with it. I like.

I tried the Mushroom Soup which was delicious. Followed by lamb ragout from sirloin - photo. Bit to the dry side with a strong taste of something 'healthy' that I could not place. What do I know 🤷🏻‍♂️

The Tablecloths have also gone and you find yourself ordering food from a daily changing, limited menu. For my taste at this price point I expect tablecloths and extended wine menu. You can insist getting the wine list from the hotel, but spontaneously ordering something delicious to drink has gone.

There is no Irish coffee, but the Banana cake and the double espresso is good 😋 Coffee comes with nothing so don't expect a piece of the MCH chocolate 🍫

Service varies between a bit slow and good 👍🏻

We komen hier al jaren, reeds van de vorige locatie. Supporters van het eerste uur. Altijd al fantastisch bediend en gegeten. Vandaag was anders dan anders, ander personeel en dat was duidelijk merkbaar. Er was nog 1 tafel vrij binnen (overdekt) en eentje buiten. We vroegen een mevrouw het tafeltje buiten, dit kon niet. We verlieten de zaak en bedachten ons dat we misschien een tafel konden reserveren voor 45min later. Deze reservatie met de manager verliep erg moeizaam, hij was niet vriendelijk en gedienstig, maar was uiteindelijk mogelijk. Toen ons kamernummer gevraagd werd en we dit niet hadden, was het ineens weer moeilijk, maar na veel moeilijk doen door de manager toch mogelijk. In tussen tijd gingen we iets drinken aan het strand, haasten ons terug om op tijd te zijn en bleek dat ze enkel de tafel binnen hadden, die we van bij aanvang niet wilden. De manager is ronduit niet vriendelijk en arrogant. Jammer. In zulke hotels dient de klant steeds het gevoel te hebben dat alles mogelijk is. Zelfs al komt hij van buitenaf, of het dient niet opengesteld te worden voor mensen van buitenaf. Wat wel ten volle geëxplodeerd wordt in...
