Did not yet walk out on the pier but it is 10 min walk from where I am staying now. This part of the Marbella promenade is called the golden mile and another 20 min walk west will get you to Porte Banus - palaces there not just mansions. On your way to Porte Banus you can see the Rock of Gibraltar 30 miles further west and opposite, south African coast with the other half of the mountain that was split apart to create the Strait of Gibralter (Hercules broke the two continents apart...

Great place for walking!!! The large promenade from the "old town" Marbella to the port Banus will allow you to walk slowly, and run, and ride a rented bike or scooter. The old-style brige is a great place to relax, have a cup of coffee and listen to the sound of the waves. Highly recommend!

It was a good experience the view while in the cable car was good and hiking to the top of the mountain. The downside is that there are no directional signs for those that decide not to ride on the cable car back ie with a one way ticket. Bird of prey viewing is a most while there
