We recently visited La Muralha in Sierra Nevada, and overall, it was a lovely experience. The restaurant is beautifully designed and has a cosy, welcoming atmosphere. Gonçalo, the owner, is super friendly, and the staff was nice enough. However, it does get really warm inside, especially after coming in from the snow with all the winter jackets – it can be a bit too toasty for some!
As for the food, unfortunately, it didn’t quite live up to expectations. We had carpaccio, which was a bit tough and lacked flavour. The croquettes, which are usually a hit, felt a little greasy this time around. The food wasn’t exactly bad, but it definitely wasn’t outstanding either – and considering the price, it left us wanting a bit more in terms of flavour.

It’s just worth noting that La Muralha is one of the more expensive spots in Sierra Nevada, so it’s not necessarily the place to go if you’re looking for a hearty, filling meal. It’s more about the ambience and the vibe, but a bit more focus on taste would...
Read moreI had high expectations due to the excellent reviews, but unfortunately, the food was a disappointment. We ordered steak, pulpo and secreto iberico. The octopus was one of the worst I tried, very hard to bite and quite fatty. The flavor of steak and secreto was rather mediocre. The waiters seemed visibly frustrated even though there were not a lot of people in the restaurant at that moment. In addition to the underwhelming food, annoyed staff and uncomfortable temperature in the restaurant (probably around 30C), we received a dirty fork and a dirty plate. I don't recommend this restaurant, there are many better ones...
Read moreAnother good evening. We have a had a few meals in the restaurants along this area of the road & they seem to have a good standard. Another happy experience for us tonight with our family & friends. The waitress serving us was lovely & very accommodating. We shared several dishes including pork secreto, steak, tuna tartare, octopus, pimientos padron (excellent) & fish loin. One of them was a mistake due to translation - but still very good. Also great rose wine to accompany. Another excellent...
