Curry House Nerja — Restaurant in Nerja

I have had a few take-aways from The Curry House on avda Mediterraneo but on this occasion I decided to eat in, as it were, for a change. Well, eat out really as I opted for the street terrace, even though the interior is air conditioned. The restaurant was fairly full, usually a good sign.

Just went for a simple Lamb Dhansak with pillau rice and the odd beer to wash it down.

I had been asked ‘how hot?’ and had replied ‘fairly hot’, to which the response was ‘hot then’. It was certainly not ‘hot’ (spicy hot) by any means, just nicely medium – which is exactly what I was after on this occasion. The ‘heat’ varies, of course, from place to place. ‘Hot’ in another establishment might have blown your socks off, you just never really know until you try it.

The service was prompt, efficient and friendly, the food was tasty and the location is good. Well...

Fabulous place, I only wish I’d discovered it earlier in our holiday! Went twice in our last week after I did. The quality of the food is outstanding, easily the best keema rice and keema naan I’ve ever had. Tried the Ceylon, Chili garlic, tikka masala and jalfrezi all of which were spot on. Stand out was probably the lamb garlic chilli if I was put on the spot to choose one. Unsurprisingly it’s busy a lot of the time so bear that in mind. The couple that have it are just lovely with nothing a problem. If you’re over this way, make the effort to call in. You will not be disappointed. Hat tip to the amazing chefs knocking out all that beautiful food with the consistency they do. Bravo Curry...

We recently stayed in Nerja January 2025 and spotted this little curry house a couple of hundred yards up the road from the hotel Riu Monica and decided to stop for lunch and were not disappointed. The restaurant was very clean and comfortable and the staff were exceptionally polite and friendly. We ordered a chicken shashlik with Balti sauce, chicken korma accompanied with pilau rice, onion bhajis and a keema and garlic naan. Everything was served piping hot and tasted delicious apart from the Balti sauce which was too thin and sweet.
