Posada de Iberica, or Jorges as it is affectionately known came highly recommended by family members who visit regularly. The reviews on here support these recommendations so I thought we best try it out for ourselves. Well I can honestly say that whilst the menu is very limited people come here for the steak and my God is it good. Jorge not only serves at the bar but served the tables and cooks the food. I had some slight reservations on seeing the small charcoal grill he manages to cook the steaks on but boy he knows his stuff. The Entrecôte or Rib Eye steak was simply to die for and cooked to perfection. I’ve eaten steaks costing 3 or 4 times what you pay here and this is hands down the best. Being a regular visitor to Nerja I’ve read reviews about other steak houses and so this evening we decided to do a taste test against the other most popular steak house, El Refugio. Don’t get me wrong both were very very good and I would happily eat at either, but there was only one winner in respect of the steak taste test and that was Posada de Iberica. Well done...
Read moreFound this place off of google maps and saw its great reviews so decided to check it out…they were not wrong! We got seated at the bar with no reservation and when I tell you our mind was blown - it was truly blown 🤯. We got 2 sangrias and they went down very well…best sangria in Nerja. We were fortunate enough to witness the chef in action and it is an art watching him run his kitchen. Small menu focusing on each dish because every meal looked outstanding. We got the chicken and this was the best chicken we had ever eaten. Simple yet so effective - well seasoned, tender and cooked to perfection 🤌🏽. The meal size was unreal to the point we licked our plates clean. The hand-cut chips were simply divine and alongside the aioli (it is a must to get). Even the salad was well dressed and added freshness amongst the meal. We would return to Nerja just for this restaurant alone. He also gave us a lollipop to end the night. 10/10 place cannot fault! Please go support this business they deserve all...
Read moreWe were out between Xmas and New year and my son had read the reviews about this place and insisted we go, however we never managed to get to visit. Me and my wife were back out in June again and managed to book up (you need to book in advance after 7pm and it is closed at the weekend) - We were not disappointed, possibly the best meal we have ever had? The Starter was the prawn pil pil which was served with superb bread and was simply outstanding. For our main we both had the entrecote - perfectly cooked on the fire in front of us and the best steak we have ever had. We had the Sangria for our drinks and it was also top quality. The place is very traditional with photo's of Rock Music's greats hanging on the walls. The service was excellent and nothing was a problem. A fabulous experience which on any return visit to Nerja we will prioritize as a must...
