We had a terrible meal, it became a nightmare at this restaurant. After a wonderful visit to Nerja, and being amused by the beautiful coastline, we felt our stomachs a little bit empty and we decided to search for a local-food restaurant in the neighborhood that would relief our hunger and calm our thirst in such a hot day. In one of the beautiful and narrow streets of Nerja we found the Restaurant Pacomari, and even though the menu of the day was a little bit expensive for what they offered (drinks and bread not included, and simple menu) we decided to stay. When we entered the restaurant we were surprised about the location, it's a beautiful house patio restored into part of the main restaurant, that also has a bar. We had to seat ourselves, they weren't too many people seated at the tables, so we sat in front of a provisional fan and waited for the server to appear and offer us something to drink. We saw him and he saw us a couple times before he helped us, finally he offered us a drink and gave us the menus, the drinks were really small, we asked for a jar of "Tinto de Verano" (wine with gas water) but they only had small bottles, so we had to order a bunch of tiny bottles and some glasses with ice because they weren't cold. After 15 minutes, another server appeared and took notes of our order, we were so hungry! after another 15 minutes they brought us the first course, three of us had a bowl of Gazpacho and the other two had two slices of melon and Jamon, the food was good, the gazpacho was refreshing, and the melon was really sweet. The server appeared 10 minutes after we finished to clean the table, and we waited for him to bring the second course, and here is where the nightmare started. We waited and waited for more than 45 minutes, we thought that they had forgotten bout us, we called them and we made them know that we had waited for about 45 minutes and that the second course never appeared, we asked them if they would bring us the second course of if we should just leave, so what happened after was something unexpected, the server had an attitude with us! so we asked him to see the manager, they brought us the second course after 10 minutes, and after finishing, the server appeared again and we asked him again for the manager, but this time, he had an even worse attitude with us and started to laugh at our faces about our questions. Finally we had to stand and go by ourselves to find the manager, and again they made us wait. Finally the manager appeared and we asked him for the letter of complaints, and he denied it to us. We talked to him for about 15 minutes and he got aggressive, we insisted on the letter of complaints, until he finally brought it to us, but!!!, he would never let us write it! he was looking over our shoulders, making sarcastic and violent comments about us,, so after writing a very polite letter of complaints we paid for our menu ( that, by the way, we never had it complete, because we didn't get dessert) and left, but not without more insults through the window from the servers. To sum up, it was the most terrible experience we had at a restaurant!!! It's been our very first time writing a letter of complaints. Terrible, experience.
I would not recommend this...
Read moreThis place seems to be it's own worst enemy. It offers great choice and quality on it's Menu del Dia. My partner's Pil Pil Prawns were truly excellent as was my Gazpacho. Mains and dessert were equally impressive, especially for the price. Service - what service? We arrived shortly after it opened with only two other tables occupied. The starters arrived quickly and we were looking forward to an excellent lunchtime treat. We noticed other tables that had arrived after us were getting food, we were not. Catching the attention of the, by now, busy staff was difficult and nobody seemed to notice we had been overlooked. Eventually, after a reminder, the main course arrived by which time people who arrived after us had finished their meals, paid and left. Orders for desserts were taken promptly and we opted for two cold dishes. Again a long delay, finally a senior waiter noticed we still had no food an stated he had chased it up nd it was coming. 10 minutes later the two cold dishes, which had clearly been kept in the fridge arrived. Great food, great value but TWO HOURS?...
Read moreWith the exception of one member of the waiting staff who was courteous and attentive, this was the worst service we’ve experienced anywhere in the world for years – perhaps ever. Service was slow, disorganised, and inefficient; the particular waiter who served our table was rude and dismissive (my wife speaks fluent Spanish, so it wasn’t a language issue). One table next to us also complained they’d been waiting for their main courses for over half an hour, another spent most of their time trying to catch the attention of the staff, and another waited an age before being brought the wrong order. And the food? Starters were fine, mains indifferent at best, and desserts – well, we’d waited so long for them, it’s impossible to judge. I don’t like leaving negative reviews and rarely review at all but, if you’re reading this, I wanted to save you from a bad experience. Go...
