Firstly-this is one of the most adorable restaurants I’ve ever been in. The patio is just stunning with beautiful plants and so much to look at.
We stopped in for a snack and a drink and ordered spritzes, bruschetta, and caprese salad. All were very good, except the caprese could have used much more basil.
Unfortunately the service was terrible. The restaurant was pretty much empty when we came in, and we were seated by a very grumpy woman that seemed annoyed that we were there at all. She begrudgingly took our order and we didn’t see her again. We then had a male server who seemed very shy (maybe the language barrier, but we tried our best!). We ate and asked for our bill, which didn’t show up until about 40 minutes later.
Not sure if this is the standard for this restaurant, or if it was an off day, but we didn’t feel very welcome.
Would still come back just to have a drink on their patio again! It’s...
Read moreTrattoria Italia is a gem in Nerja. The food was absolutely on point—hands down one of the best meals we had in town. We ordered red and white wine, beef carpaccio as a starter, ox cheeks, and spaghetti carbonara. The carpaccio was flavorful, drizzled with just the right amount of oil, paired perfectly with rocket salad, and topped with a delicate pastry—a fun little surprise. The carbonara was rich, creamy, and bursting with flavor. A heads-up: it’s quite indulgent, so if you're not into rich pastas, it might not be your go-to. The ox cheeks were incredibly tender and melted in the mouth, with a rich, delicious gravy that tied the dish together beautifully. We also appreciated the complimentary limoncello shots at the end—a lovely touch.
Anytime we’re in Nerja, this will be a must-stop for us. The owners should be proud of what they’ve...
Read moreWhat a lovely experience. Run by an Italian with most staff Italian as well. Very friendly and accurate service. Terrace in the front, very cozy and nicely made patio. Beautifully styled inside with even a classic wooden high chair instead of the normally plastic IKEA one you find in most restaurants. Then the food: let me start with saying that they serve generous portions here. Absolutely delicious food though. We had vitello tonnato, salade caprese, the Entrecote tagliata and frutti Di mare pasta and a tiramisu to share. The starters are a meal on its own and both were excellent. Nicely grilled and succulent entrecote steak. The pasta frutti Di mare is an absolute showstopper. Absolutely delicious with an enormous amount of seafood on there. Will definitely...
