Tucked away in Nerja, about a 5-10 minute walk from the main bar and restaurant area, we discovered an absolute hidden gem. This place exceeded all expectations with both the food and service being exceptional. Everything tasted fresh and homemade, bursting with flavor.
We started off with a complimentary tapa of blue cheese and prawn, which set the tone for the entire meal—it was absolutely delicious! The combination of flavors was spot on, leaving us excited for what was to come.
Next, we ordered a selection of croquetas—cheese, oxtail, chicken, and prawn. These were, hands down, the best croquetas I’ve had in all of Spain. Each was paired with a different homemade sauce that perfectly enhanced the flavors. The oxtail croqueta, in particular, was our favorite; we even played rock-paper-scissors at the table to determine who would get the last one!
Following that, we had the prawn pil pil. The portion was generous, with prawns cooked in a mouthwatering sauce. The freshly toasted focaccia on the side was perfect for soaking up every last bit of it. Then came the smash burger—massive and incredibly flavorful. Finally, we finished with the Piri Piri half chicken, which was beautifully tender and cooked to perfection.
Each dish was served one at a time, giving us plenty of time to savor and share without feeling rushed. By the end, we were completely stuffed but thoroughly satisfied.
The warm and welcoming hosts added to the experience, making it an absolute must-visit if you’re in Nerja for a few days....
Read moreI just found my new favourite restaurant in Nerja after coming here for 12 years and being a long term resident on occasion.
The food isn’t tapas, which is typically found in the area. It is different and interesting. It is made with what I think is quality produce and meat and love. The owners have a creative flair. It has the typical tapas bar feel though which is charming about this area, so well done.
The only drawback is the place is often quiet, maybe because it’s new and the neighbourhood doesn’t know it’s really good. That might be a good thing if you’re introverted.
A big bonus is the best hardware shop in town is next door. If you’re into that sort of thing. Also one of the best local fruit/veg shops is...
Read moreWe found this gem run by co-owners on our first day in Nerja. I knew we made the right choice when I saw the chef shaping scoops of ice cream as if he was making tournedos. The atmosphere was authentic and the owners were personable. Our meal was excellent; it was one of only 2 restaurants I returned to on our 2week trip through southern Spain. Our night started with meeting the brewer whose beer was on tap followed by off menu selections that arrived as part of the tapas chef choice experience. The fish and chips was perfectly cooked with a presentation that equalled a fine dining restaurant while gampas pil pil arrived sizzling to perfection. Highly recommend the oxtail fries. Stop in; you...
