Restaurante La Corte de Pelayo — Restaurant in Oviedo

Friday, day meal ok, evening dinner ok but....for Saturday I had a reservation for 4 people and it was very bad at the end...we had a waiter what served us (with chin) who was very rude, in the sense that at the time of serving he was very noisy, literally throwing the cutlery on the table and snatching the ones we had already used from our hands, throwing them on a plate making a lot of noise, which was very disturbing. At the table, we were not offered the necessary things such as salt, oil, pepper, etc... we had to wait until a waiter was available to bring them, the meat and other dishes meanwhile got cold😌. We spent around an hour and 45 minutes at the table and immediately after we asked for payment and paid we were informed that there were other customers outside waiting to occupy our table and subtly, we were informed that it would be better to leave the table😔😔. The total payment was around 200 euros for this meal plus: Friday lunch 50 euros, Friday evening 120 euros, the total for 2 days being 370 euros!!! We are not really Spanish, we live in Tarragona, we are on vacation and we wanted to enjoy the food and traditions of this area (Asturias). I honestly do not recommend this restaurant, for the reasons...

The food there is delicious and the waiters are really nice, still eating there was an unpleasant expierence. Unfortunately the last time we went there we were really put in a hurry to eat quickly so they could use the table again. I understand that there might be other people who might have a reservation but the minute we got there we were told that we have one and a have hours to eat, which is totally fine because part of our table was late to our reservation (15-20 min). The thing is i would have preferred if they would have just told us to come another time, because the hurried us the whole time we were eating. We were told 4 times how much time we have left and there was constant movement around us taking away plates even if there was still food on them. They basically tried to get us out of there as quickly as possible. I wouldnt be mad if it was because there was another reservation in line but as soon as we got out there i heard the manager give our table to a group of people asking if there was anything free, so really there was no reason for them to be so unwelcoming to us. Dont go there if you want a calm meal, but if youre in a hurry and dont mind eating quickly they serve you really fast and the food is...

We went to this restaurant because the food was highly recommended by a local friend. We had a reservation for lunch on Friday for five people, made online. Once there, at the set time, we had to wait for some 10 minutes to be shown to our table, but our hopes were still high. From there, it all went from bad to worse. Although the food was ok, the service was atrocious at every step. From the first grumpy waiter who threw the cuttlery and bread on our plates without a word to the one who opened the sideria and spilled it on my hair and clothes without really apologizing. We had to wait at least half an hour to get the menues, then 10 more minutes for them to be changed with English language ones, then half an hour for the food. Of all the waiters that have been attending our table, not one was smiling and we had the weird feeling that it was more of a feeding facility than a restaurant and that the staff was looking forward for the guests to finally finish their food and leave. There was no salt and pepper on the table, no toothpicks, no lemon with the fish, and we had to wait a long time for everything we asked for. Probably the only thing that came fast was the bill.
