This restaurant was so unique among the many places we’ve eaten while visiting Spain. Frankly, it felt more like an American theme restaurant, with over-the-top interior design and a huge glossy catalog of food choices rather than a mere menu. But don’t hold that against it … the food and drink were excellent. My wife and I shared a large platter of perfectly grilled vegetables and another of an excellent picaña, with a couple of good craft beer to wash it all down. (Sorry, we’re not fans of Asturias sidra.) The bar service was mediocre (seemed to ignore me) but our table server (or perhaps manager?) who took us under his wing with a very good understanding of English intervened and got it done. Although all his responses were in rapid-fire Spanish, we managed to understand each other just fine, a tribute to our common willingness to aid communication with body language. There are three of these franchises in Oviedo and four more in other towns, but we only tried this one (on Gran Bulevar El Vasco) and highly recommend it.

We came here on a recommendation from a friend and we were not disappointed. The food we ordered was all really good although we would have appreciated to know that the croquetas were with jamón curado. Also it would have been nice with homemade fries. I think the meat deserved better fries. The potatoes that came with the octopus were homemade, but the ones that came with the entrecot were for sure from the freezer. We came without a reservation and were seated in less than 5 minutes. The service at the table was excellent, quick, friendly and professional. We were very happy with Samuel that was the name of our waiter. We paid 144€ for 4 people. We cold have ordered less and that would have been enough too. The portion size were very generous. When we one day come back to Oviedo we will for sure come back.

A mediocre experience. The restaurant is nice, but overly noisy. The service was subpar, and even though they have a huge menu, they were pressuring us to order food. We had 3 different waiters ask for our order within 2 minutes of sitting down. The food was ok, just beware that it is all highly fried. Plates where huge and it would have been nice to be warned as we ordered two plates when one would have been more than enough. At the end, we felt rushed, we were barely able to have a conversation because of the noise and we were not happy with what we ordered (because of being rushed). Also be aware, if you are expecting sweet apple cider, this is not it, naturas sider is overly carbonated and vinagry.

It was a bitter experience on the evening of July 24, 2024. Visiting from Texas, I went to invite my friends in Oviedo to one of their favorite restaurants in town.

We were a party of 4 but we were still waiting for one of us to arrive. To our surprise, we couldn’t be seated on the available table they offered us just because we were waiting for one more person (?), something never seen before and completely out of any standard of service.

So we went to the bar and ordered some cider (ah, that’s maybe the reason!) while waiting for our friend to arrive, hoping the table was still available which wasn’t guaranteed. Pretty weird.

Suddenly and in a rush, the three of us were seated at an available table while still waiting for our friend.

As we were trying to order an entry dish, the waiter Alberto started showing an unusual aggressive defensive behavior, denying us the entry dish while aggressively pushing with his hands in the air shouting we had to wait before ordering so they could prepare everything at once. It was a “Shut up! No entry dish, no nothing until you all are ready to order!” situation, all in the most pretentiously loud aggressive way.

He was clearly abusing us, standing up while we were seated, his body language was that of an abuser trying to shut us down just to dominate the situation. He was either trained to do that or he was a sick mind in the wrong place dealing with the wrong people.

I have zero tolerance for this kind of behavior so I confronted him and made clear we were ordering an entry dish whether he liked it or not. A manager came by and made possible for us to get our entry dish.

Alberto came by again and tried to convince us that he was right and was not treating us like garbage. At this moment, I stand up and told him right at his face he should learn to treat the customer with respect.

This was the most unpleasant experience in a restaurant I have ever had. A pretentious restaurant that believes success comes with the right to abuse the customers.

There are many, many restaurants out there with highly professional staff ready to serve you the best cuisine for your money, with respect, so DO NOT go to this nest of pretentious staff trained to abuse the customers.

Their business model is clear: have as much table rotation as possible at whatever the cost, even if you have to treat the customer as cattle going to the butcher. We will make a formal complaint at the consumer’s office and post the results here. There are no excuses to this situation just because the customers wanted an entry dish while waiting for a friend, none.

Not to mention the ribs were raw and the...
