La Barra de Villoldo — Restaurant in Palencia

At the recoomendation of a friend we came to try the bravas. we were not disappointed. if you prefer your bravas on the crispy side (as I do) these were perfect. the sauces and seaspning were great too. we will definitely be back.

Por recomendación de un amigo vinimos a probar las bravas. no nos decepcionó. Si prefieres las bravas crujientes (como yo), estas fueron perfectas. las salsas y el mar también eran geniales. Definitivamente vamos a estar de vuelta.

Edit: As promised I returned, this time to try their take on "fish and chips." While only bearing a passing resemblance to the classic British dish (these were more like very high class fish fingers) it was delicious. There are many, many restaurants in Palencia. Our choice fallen over this restaurant that is not in the most busy areas. We found that most of the customers were locals. Once seated (outside) you will enjoy a very pleasant view over an ancient church. It is a calm place with very good service. They have made a considerable effort to accommodate our diary and gluten free restrictions that is quite difficult to accommodate on Spanish cuisine. New discovery in the beautiful Palencia just behind San Miguel church. The place is nice and relaxing. We tried the patatas bravas which where different to what I've tries before. They were actually nice.

The only negative point was the service. As we ordered a tapa they didn't offer us a free tapa like the rest of the people in the bar.

Definitely worth to give it another try and taste some...
