Just made my first visit and was so disappointing I probably won’t go back because they really need to up their game.
It was a Sunday night and I was solo…. The restaurant was not busy.
I ordered an estrella damm which the waiter didn’t quite understand at first and the 09 - Mala Chasu Ramen. I was never asked if I wanted my ramen to be spicy and at what level like it says on the menu. I had eaten at the other Buga restaurant a few days before this and the staff were more attentive and they asked me how spicy I wanted the ramen… on a scale of 1 to 5.
My drink order never arrived… the ramen arrived first so I reminded staff member that my drink had not arrived which should really have been served straight after my order. Drink was served after my food arrived and I told the staff member that I needed a spoon… usually a ramen comes with a long wooden ramen spoon but I got a metal soup spoon… fine. I noticed there was no egg… so I said this to staff member… also that there was very little soup (caldo) which I mentioned to the staff member but he didn’t seem very interested … so staff member told me that they had forgotten the egg so went to go to get egg but I called him back to take the whole ramen bowl with him to the kitchen. The ramen came back with the egg. It was not a marinaded egg like it says on the menu… it was half a hard boiled egg, overcooked for a ramen as any good ramen I’ve ever tasted have had soft boiled eggs. The soup was not hot enough and there was very little of it but I didn’t want to complain any more to the staff plus they gave me the impression that they didn’t really care anyhow.
There were 2 small flavourless, rubbery and thinly sliced pieces of meat, chasu pork. The pictures on the menu give you the impression that they will be generous with the meat…. This was not the case. Unfortunately I did not take any pictures but looking back now I should have.
I ordered a second beer and that arrived fairly promptly this time.
Asked for bill… The ramen cost €13.90 and with 2 beers the total came to €19.50. Paid €20 by card… left a small tip… I’m usually a good tipper but on this occasion the staff seemed uninterested… were not attentive… even after paying, a staff member wanted to take the ticket away and never asked me if I needed the receipt which I did… just small details but these small details come with experience and some staff certainly need some training and experience. It’s very easy to ask customer… “would you like to keep the receipt?”.
Also, the restaurant is nicely decorated and looks very inviting from the outside but if your staff are not welcoming and they’re unfriendly it makes this a very impersonal experience.
I attach a receipt of my visit although you probably don’t even need this as your restaurant had a camera directed...
Read moreJust the coolest venue we found in Palma, cleverly used the narrow layout of the restaurant to simulate a Tokyo street vibe. Packed full of all your favourite Anime characters, classic neons, figurines and the food was authentic too. Amazing Ramen and daughter loved it (joint top of her Japanese venues), my combo meal had a bit of everything and the gyozas 🥟 were excellent. Full compliment of Ramune and Japanese bottle shapes of US beverages, along with all well known beers and Saki. Definitely worth a visit, even just to enjoy the venue itself. Lie was a great host and...
Read moreRamen Buga is an absolute gem and a must-try for ramen lovers in Palma! This newly opened spot has quickly become a favorite, and it’s easy to see why. The service is warm and attentive, the menu offers great variety, and the ramen is simply delicious—flavorful, rich, and satisfying. The atmosphere is spot-on, with its anime-inspired interior design adding a fun and unique touch. Be prepared to wait a bit as they’re often full (a testament to how good it is), but trust me, it’s worth it. Highly...
