Café Restaurante Los Olivos is truly a hidden gem in S’Arenal and one of the nicest, most authentic places we visited during our stay. The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and very family-oriented you immediately feel welcome, almost like being invited into someone’s home. It has that traditional Spanish charm that makes the whole experience very special.
The food is absolutely delicious. Everything is freshly prepared with good ingredients and served with care. There is a wide variety to choose from tasty tapas, pa amb oli (a true Mallorcan specialty), fresh salads, grilled fish, squid, prawns, chicken, and meat dishes, as well as sandwiches, hamburgers and more. Portions are generous and perfect for sharing. You can really tell that everything is made with love and tradition. Some dishes are simple, some are surprising, but all of them taste wonderful.
The prices are very fair for the quality and portion sizes. It is rare to find a place where you can eat so well without paying too much, especially in such a touristic area. Here you get honest food at honest prices which is exactly what makes it stand out.
A big highlight is the staff. The service is extremely friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The waiters treat you with kindness, always smiling and happy to help. They explain dishes, recommend favorites, and make you feel like part of the family. It’s that kind of hospitality that makes you want to come back again and again.
If you want to experience authentic Spanish and Mallorcan food in a relaxed and welcoming setting, this is the perfect place. Typical Spanish cuisine, great prices, delicious dishes, and wonderful service Café Restaurante Los Olivos combines everything you could wish for in a local restaurant. Definitely worth a visit and highly...
Read moreI don’t often leave bad reviews but I had to with this one…We went to this place based on the reviews on Google. They were nice enough to serve us 20 mins before they were closing at 4pm, we were ok to go somewhere else but the waiter said we had time. We ordered 2 plates of shrimp brochettes, ceasar salad and patatoes with 6 sauces. The shrimp was absolutely awful, did not taste fresh at all and were sooooo salty!! The ceasar salad had chicken in that tasted really bad, had to sort it out. The rest of the salad was good and the potatoes also, so that was all we ate. We couldn’t eat the shrimp at all and the chicken 🤢 We think they were mad and served us awful food because we arrived before they closed but they shouldn’t have told us it was ok… Anyway, never...

🇬🇧 NOW OPEN AGAIN - NOTE OPENING HOURS!!!
Unfortunately closed at the moment because there was a fire in the kitchen a few weeks ago. It is not known whether Los Olivos will open again in the foreseeable future 😫.
Actually, the area around the "Ballermann" is not part of my catchment area, but after a tip from Spanish friends, a visit to Los Olivos is now a frequently visited address.
The response is generally very good, but also from locals - especially at lunchtime there are also many Spaniards. The price-performance ratio is uniquely good. And despite the really low prices, the quality is above average.
Every caña comes with tapas of your choice, for example a piece of lomo, grilled with parsley-garlic oil on bread - for 1.65€.
The other dishes and prices are also impressive. For example, the cordon bleu or two fish fillets, each with chips and salad...
