SICILIA In Bocca — Restaurant in Palma

My mom and I went to Sicilia In Bocca two days ago. I am vegetarian but we was surprised about the fact that the staff unfortunately not know the difference between vegetarian and vegan. In the beginning I asked one of the waiter and the cook (!) if their Tortellini with ricotta and spinach is vegetarian. They answered „Oh yes, of course“. But they served me the meal with parmesan on top (which is not written in the menu). I went to the cook and the waiter again and asked if the parmesan of them vegetarian (normally parmesan is made by animal rennet and it’s not vegetarian in most of the cases). They had not any sense of understanding and began to discuss with me. All in all they made me a new one without parmesan and without any sorry or smile or something. In the case that I’ve search in Internet for vegetarian restaurants and this one was shown as a vegetarian restaurant (or with vegetarian options), the staff have unfortunately not sense for any vegetarian food.

Furthermore the table was dirty.

My mom was asked if she could give the empty plate to the waiter. 2 times … and he had the opportunity to crab the plat by himself. Very unprofessional. And he did not interact with us and seemed very boring to us since we entered in this restaurant.

Also the women’s toilet water tap was laying destroyed on the sink. Urrgh …

In the end we would not recommend this restaurant, because of the unprofessionally staff, uncomfy atmosphere and expensive prices for this service and...

You. Must. Go. I am picky about Italian food but saw the reviews and decided to give it a try. I was sooooo surprised how good it was. It is a meal we will be talking about for a long time. I tried everything at the table and everything was GREAT. We started with garlic bread which ended up being pizza like and wonderful. We asked for the chili oil and some balsamic vinegar and it was the best decision ever. That on the pizza was ridiculously good. I don't remember exact names of entrees, but everything I tried was.... spinach tortellini (so creamy without feeling heavy), steak porcini tagliatelle (such a great flavor and the steak was so good), spaghetti Bolognese (meaty and delicious) and the actual meal I ate was tagliatelle with meatballs which was ridiculously good. The meatballs were the best I've ever had and I felt like I won ....although everyone at the table felt like they also had the best dish. We also had both white and red wine which was good but I would not recommend the sangria which had a very odd taste. The service was great. Not much English spoken but we made our way through. They were all SUPER nice and we thoroughly...

Ich schreibe grundsätzlich nie Bewertungen, aber dieses Erlebnis, das ich hier hatte, war mit großem Abstand das schlechteste, was ich in einem Restaurant je erlebt hatte… ich muss wirklich ausholen:

Der Kellner schien zuerst nett…. Und dann kam das Grauen. Es ging schon bei der Bestellung an. Als mein Weizenbier ankam, schenkte mir die Kellnerin das Vier so ein, dass das Glas zu 95% aus Schaum bestand. Scheint wohl noch nie ein Bier eingegossen zu haben. Das Essen war nicht gut. Ich konnte meine Pizza gefühlt als Frisbeescheibe benutzen, so hart war die. Wenn der Kellner nach Feedback gefragt hat und man ihm die ehrliche Meinung gesagt hat, fing er an zu diskutieren, man solle ChatGPT mal fragen, wie man Bruschetta macht, denn deren Bruschetta sei eine 1+.

Irgendwann fängt er an uns zu erzählen, der Laden würde nur noch das Mindeste liefern, weil denen das Geld am wichtigsten ist. Wow, top Statement 👍

Bis dahin war noch alles ruhig, aber dann wurde es ungelogen Kitchen Nightmare reif, was der Typ abgezogen hat.

Einer unserer Kollegen hatte eine Cola bestellt, wollte diese aber widerrufen, weil er es sich doch anders überlegt hat. Der Kellner bestand aber darauf, dass er sie kaufen muss, weil es ja steuerliche Hintergründe hätte, was vollkommener Schwachsinn ist. In welcher Welt kannst du einen bestellten Artikel nicht mehr stornieren?! Das alles kombiniert mit einem unglaublich arroganten Verhalten und schwacher Argumentation war schon genug um den Laden in Grund und Boden zu Bewerten.

Das beste kommt aber noch…

Es waren 2 Bier zu viel auf der Rechnung. Die Kellner wollten uns erzählen, dass wir sie so bestellt hätten, aber so war es in Gottes Namen nicht! Und sie diskutieren da wirklich um ihr Leben, wegen 2 Bier… unfassbar.

Das Ding ist aber, dass sie dann irgendwann erkannt haben, dass wir diese Biere nicht bestellt haben. Was mussten sie also machen? Richtig! Sie mussten sie stornieren uns von der Rechnung runternehmen. Also fragte mein Kollege nochmals wegen der Cola. Denn wenn man die Biere stornieren kann, dann kann man auch die Cola stornieren, richtig?

Und dann ging es los. Der Kellner schreit herum, beleidigt unseren Kollegen, bringt leere Argumente und wollte ums Verrecken nicht die Cola von der Rechnung nehmen.

Es ging ganz klar darum, den letzten Euro aus der Sache herauszuquetschen. Wie unfassbar peinlich kann man sich bitte aufführen, wegen einer Cola. Dabei hat der Kerl auf unfassbar viel Trinkgeld mit seiner Aktion verzichtet, was diese Cola-Geschichte 10-Fach abgedeckt hätte. Er wollte für diese Cola wirklich über Leichen gehen, das muss man sich mal überlegen.

Alles in einem war es einfach Kinoreif, ich werde meinen Enkelkindern noch davon erzählen, wie unglaublich schlecht dieses...
