We stumbled upon this place while searching for dinner one night in Palma. We had no way of knowing how incredible an experience it would be. We had the Calabrese Pizza and the Ravioli in butter sauce. We also had 3 of the homemade deserts. All of the dishes were excellent. The menu has a wide variety of traditional italian dishes, something for everyone to eat. The Italian wines and drinks are very affordable, as are all of the menu items. I was very very happy with the taste, quality and prices of the restaurant - but this is not why we had such a great experience.
We learned by observation during dinner that the young man serving us, the gentlemen behind the bar, and the woman in the corner making sure everything was right - were actually a family. Turns out they are a family running a business in Palma. They are originally from Calabria in Italy, and moved here a few years ago. This explains why the food is so authentic. I have to give a special thanks for the unbelievable hand made deserts that Elena (the mother) made. We had all 3 of them because they were so fantastic. We ended up staying for hours chatting with the family. Very very good place to eat. Highly recommend it. We will...
Read moreWe had such a lovely time in Cenia Restaurant yesterday evening. It is close to the Marina. We called in on our way back from a boat trip. It was just a nice atmosphere, unassuming and super friendly. You get real Italian hospitality with Elena and Giulio. As well as Prosecco, not Cava so that made me really happy ;-).
But the most important thing was the food - the pizzas were perfection. My daughter had prawn linguine and it was amazing. Italian cooking is about making the ordinary taste extraordinary and I had the nicest tuna salad I had ever had. We were even saying how nice the French fries were.
So yeah we would recommend a trip to Cenia for a friendly, relaxed atmosphere with fab food and...
Read moreWe were in Palma for a five night break and fancied authentic Italian food close to our hotel. We were warmly welcomed into Cenia by a friendly guy who gave us a choice of tables. The lady cook (we think it was a husband & wife team) could be seen working in her kitched, which is always nice to see. We ordered a pasta (Arrabbiata) and pizza (pepperoni) and a salad. We were truly delighted with the food, which came nice & hot, very flavoursome - authentic and well prepared - and the salad was fresh and plentiful. There were also olives and bread as an entree. Overall, this was a really great evening and we would definately eat there again on our next...
