La Cabra Feliz. Bar Ético — Restaurant in Palma

Once upon a time in Palma...

The happy goat... Ethic bar.

I bumped into this new little add in one of my favourite area in town, Calle Blanquerna, only by chance...I was walking around this beautiful pedestrian area, not fully knows from the tourists yet, wondering a coffee or something different to boost up my morning. All the sudden I couldn't spot anymore my regular cafeteria but instead there was a new interesting business. Overlooking the busy terrace already at 10am I noticed the sign that attracted my attention right away from the name and the meaning " La cabra feliz ... Bar etico " ( The happy goat ethic bar ). Intrigue from the sign I walked in to find out what was about.

To greet me at the bar service area there was a pretty waitress ( that I find out later was the new owner ) with auburn hair and a reassuring smile, named Giuditta. I asked for an espresso coffee and a croissant to have at the last table available outside ... excellent both of them! While I was enjoying the lovely mallorca autumn weather ( October 9th at 26° ) and relaxing watching the life goes by, I Exchanged few words with the chatty Giuditta :), kindly and passionate she was explain me that it was a vegan/vegetarian bar and the the brioches, like everything they were serving, were without butter or meat or any derivate direct ( As Giuditta like to say " Senza il morto " without the dead ).

Giuditta told me that she has a Vet degree ( where she got her love for animals ) achieved in Italy, and she turn vegan/vegetarian ( apparently she cannot avoid eggs :) many years ago and today is proudly following up the topic. " Mother " of two beautiful dogs ( Ninetto and Tanga ), obviously she cannot imagine kill a creature to satisfied her palate or anybody else for the sake to do it. The Ethic part concern also in everything is plastic or toxic for the planet but this is a bit more complicate to achieve even tho she said she is working on it.

She bought the place few weeks before my visit, she said, although the fridges where full of delicious cheeses and tortillas she was still adding new interesting futures to her menu... I saw serving mouth watering dribbling tostadas and pinchos with various toppings and cheeses all in the name of the vegan/vegetarian, the idea is a welcoming cafeteria in the morning and early aperitif bar for evening, not too late 9 / 10 pm max ...I can t wait to try it all!

As a vegetarian i find it hard to find places that serve good food. Not only was the food delicious but also very affordable. they have gluten free options too! very friendly service. definitely recommend:) vegan allioli...

Un “oasis” dentro de la Calle Blanquerna. Tiene una terracita muy agradable, el grupo de amigas que manejan el negocio son profesionales, cocinan muy rico, saludable y con sabor a casa, el servicio muy bueno. Llegue muy cansada y muerta de hambre porque eran las 17:00 y no había comido nada desde el desayuno, me senté en la terraza y en seguida vino Lisa a atenderme con una gran sonrisa. Probé varias de las opciones que ese día tenían de menú: una hamburguesa de calabacín con patatas muy rica una lasaña de verduras sin pasta y tarta de queso de postre, todo delicioso.
