Decided to visit this restaurant based on the reviews. Location is enjoyable. Just off waterfront but has a cobble stone road in front of it so the occasional car passes by. But all the other restaurants in the area have the same thing. Sat outside on the terrace with lovely sunshine beaming down on me. Menu offered a choice for everyone. I chose the red tuna with grilled aubergine and sautéed vegetables. And of course a glass of wine. My food came in reasonable time. The red tuna looked lovely and tasted good. Unfortunately all the vegetables looked like mush and were not in my opinion edible i.e. enjoyable to eat that I left them after one bite.. On making a comment on this the service did the right thing without hesitation and offered an alternative to the vegetables. The service personnel from start to finish were very pleasant, properly trained and understood how to make the customer feel good. Prices are in the mid to upper range. Regarding value for money I am on the fence when comparing other restaurants in the area and Mallorca. I felt my original dish with the mushy vegetables overpriced with the alternative provided ok. So would I recommend yes based on their correct response to my vegetables I felt taken care...

We were staying at a local boutique hotel and needed a change of supper venue, we’d visited Periplo in a previous incarnation a number of years ago so took a chance. We were blown away by the standard of cooking and the quality of the fresh produce, so much so that we booked on consecutive evenings. The first evening, based on Giles Coren’ adage to eat restaurant food you can’t cook at home, we started with unctuous razor clams with Chardonnay marinade followed by grilled Rooster of St Peter (John Dory) which was delicious. On the second night we shared the gGrouper ceviche with mango and passion fruit, a large bowl of citrus and heat, my wife then had the lacquered red tuna loin whose levels of umami are stellar, I had the pork shoulder which was beautifully flavoured. Service throughout was outstanding, the staff were knowledgeable and attentive but not overwhelming. Periplo will be the reason we head back to Portixol as quickly...

First bad experience and price scam on Mallorca!

I went for dinner yesterday and ordered grilled fish. On the menu it said 9.50 Euro for 100 gram. Apparently the service asked me in Spanish if I wanted 500 gram of fish which I didnt understand properly. Instead I asked the service back if this is a portion for 1 person and they said yes. I ended up getting the largest grilled fish I ever had with more than half a kilo which I obviously wasnt even able to eat (I am a 1.60m small girl) and they charged me 95 Euros just for the fish. What kind of service is that? Not making the customer aware that they are about to order grilled fish for almost 100 Euros and ways too much for one person? It was ridiculous really. First...

Amazing food, beautiful views, great service, delicious cocktails. I have only great things to say about this place. Started with the espresso martinis, which were some of the best I’ve ever had. They even have a white espresso martini with limoncello that’s worth it. We started with some oysters, then we had the ceviche, carpaccio, lobster and paella. My favorites were the oysters with mandarin ponzu and the lobster with black truffle but you can’t go wrong with anything. A little expensive but would absolutely come back if I was here longer. And the waiters took great care of us!

The food at Periplo was yummy, and the service was good. But be ready for the bill shocker. Prices are on the higher side, even for that kind of Restaurant; 6 euros for bread and 3.50€ for aioli felt a bit much. We were two and paid almost 150€ for two tapas and a shared fish, no wine or dessert, just water. Side dishes are extra! Enjoy the meal, but keep an eye on the costs. We left the place with a weird feeling, a bit like we got scammed. There are other Restaurants around with a better price/quality ratio. We won't go back.
