Restaurante 1955 — Restaurant in Palma

Let’s just start with the fact that this restaurant was recommended to us by someone else. We went there hoping to have a nice experience, but it turned out to be far from it.

We waited patiently for our food. When it finally arrived, I had ordered a simple pizza, and my companion had pasta with seafood. My pizza was okay, nothing special, but the seafood in the pasta was awful. (I’m not exaggerating when I say it smelled bad and was clearly not fresh. The smell was so strong it lingered on our hands even after washing them.On top of that, the pasta itself was soaked in oil, making it heavy and unpleasant to eat.

To make things worse, the waiter was rude. I understand that waiting a few minutes to be served is normal, but when it takes much longer and you’re ignored, it becomes frustrating. What really bothered me was that he saw the food left uneaten and didn’t even bother to ask if something was wrong. That’s just disrespectful.

When it came time to pay, we had to wait again for the bill, which he dropped on the table without a word before walking away. I went inside to pay directly, but he called me back in a rude way. Then, to top it all off, he started talking about us in Italian to other customers, saying things about how “stressed” or “in a hurry” I was.

First of all, if I’m spending my money and my time, it’s up to me how I spend them. And just because I didn’t speak Italian with him doesn’t mean I couldn’t understand. Gossiping about customers with other guests is completely unprofessional and unacceptable.

I had an okay experience here, but it wasn’t great. The food was average—some dishes were fine, but others were bland and didn’t feel fresh. The service was inconsistent; our server was polite at first but then seemed to forget about us, and we had to flag someone down for refills. The restaurant was clean, but the ambiance was off—the tables were too close together, and the noise level made it hard to enjoy our meal. The prices were higher than I expected for this level of quality, which was disappointing. The staff did try to fix a small issue with our order, but it took longer than it should have. Eat here only if you want your stomach and mood both spoilt. The pizza is like a frozen pizza but then worse. Pasta was cold when they brought it and dry. Really bad food!

Sangria was the worst we ever had. Their excuse it's our recipe since 50 years?! This place just gives spanish cuisine a bad name!

Service is arrogant especially the old man with the beard serving outside. He's rude and too arrogant for his own good! He goes around badly treating the customers because he obviously does not like his job!

We went there because we were misguided by the reviews which are probably coming from people who are either too drunk or just don't know good food!
