Rocabeach Mediterranean Restaurant — Restaurant in Palma

Food was delayed over 1,5 hours and we were neither given information nor refills on our drinks. After roughly 45 minutes when we had finished our initial drinks, we asked for a drinks menu so that we could order something else to drink. However, we were never approached again and after another 45 minutes we decided to pay for our starter course and initial drinks and leave. Worth noting was that the neighboring table’s guests arrived later than we did, but were served drinks and their meals within a reasonable timeframe. It is possible that the waiters and chefs completely forgot about our orders and somehow, on top of that, the waiters managed to miss our table when walking back and forth.

The starter dish: We ordered bruschetta with tuna, tomatoes and peppers. Unfortunately the tuna was clearly canned, the bread was incredibly soggy and all-in-all inedible. On top of this, neither of us were given a plate to eat from - we had to share one in the middle.

Granted that the night was busy, their handling of us as guests was still completely unacceptable. The 1/5 star review was not from mistreatment from any specific waiter, but rather a review of the experience as a whole. Great bar, that has views of the sea. The bar has different DJS on which improves the atmosphere. Kitchen doesn’t shut till 11:30pm which is great for late eaters. A bar that you can have both drinks, and then sit down for food. Myself and my dad came three nights in a row. Had the Ribeye steak, the Pizza with palma ham and the burger. Both the steak and the burger come with chips. The general service is quite hit and miss. Not sure on his name but there’s a gentleman who carries the team. Runs, around all the tables for drinks and even served us food. The food is consistently top tier, the steak and the pizza I would highly recommend. On the third night this member of staff wasn’t working, and it got painful trying to wave someone down for a drink. The chap resembles Anakin Skywalker out of attack of the clones. ( a compliment, only way I can describe him). Very friendly, and chatty. Another member of staff didn’t speak great english but mainly worked serving food. We got served by this blonde russian waitress, after ordering the nachos which were mediocre I asked if it was ok for my girlfriend to drink from a can of Coca Cola we brought ourselves since they don’t have canned soda, only from a soda fountain. But before I got the chance to explain our reasoning (possible allergies) the waitress became very rude and caused a scene in front of other people asking us in a rude tone ”Are you joking? Do you think you can bring your own food and ask for a knife and fork as well?”

The problem was never that we couldn’t drink the can we brought ourselves, that’s why we asked in the first place.

We still decided to eat there since we had already been seated which was a bad choice in hindsight because they later tried to stress us to leave by asking us if we were done while clearly still eating.

Completely ruined mood and therefore our meal as well.

I would recommend going to the restaurant right next to it instead which serves similar food if you still want to eat at the nice location...
