Anima e Farina — Restaurant in Pollença

We came across this lovely little wine bar whilst meandering the streets of Pollenca and noticed they offered wine tasting everyday. We were looking for an authentic local wine experience and were not disappointed, the local wine and cheese were very unique to the area and well chosen by the bar owner. The owner clearly appreciates the efforts that the local producers go to, prioritising quality over commercial gains. We had five wines with cheese and home made focaccia and ended up buying a bottle of the desert wine which was exceptional. I would thoroughly recommend this if you are visiting Pollenca for the evening. I only knocked a mark for the food as we needed to find food afterwards, it would have been nice to been offered more food during the tasting as an optional extra and had to ask for bread at the end. We were tempted by the good reviews and the reasonable price range. But this place turned out to be a complete disappointment. Nowhere on the menu does it say that "pizza" means two small slices. When we got our plates, we were very surprised because the menu included items like mini pizza and, of course, focaccia. The price of these two small slices of pizza was almost €16, which is the price of a full-fledged, large round pizza at another restaurant. Stopped here drawn in by their serving of Illy coffee, having had poor hotel coffee for the last week we were delighted to see one of our favourites being offered! Luckily we stopped when we did as this place is clearly a favourite haunt and not long after we'd taken our seats, all other tables were also filled! We visited on Sunday, Pollença market day. Staff were friendly and efficient without making you feel rushed or forgotten. Small place but everything you'd want from a cute coffee stop. I also had the pistachio cheesecake which was to die for!
