Located in the inland town of Pollenca, Can Mir 45 was a short and very worthwhile drive from our AirB&B in Puerto Pollenca. My wife, daughter, and I easily found parking on one of the many side streets and walked five minutes to the restaurant. We opted for a table in the outside dining area where the sidewalk widens and forms a charming corner square at the intersection of several quiet streets to allow 10-15 tables to be comfortably spaced out under the shade of the trees. Our good-natured waiter humored me as I endeavored in my broken Spanish to describe my Whole Food Plant Based diet. After checking with the kitchen, he returned along with the owner who kindly explained which tapas would be ok, and which he could modify to include no meat or dairy. I ended up ordering a vegetable ceviche, a dish of peppers, and one of artichokes. A colorful mixture of fresh vegetable slices, the ceviche had a subtle, fruity sweetness that balanced the bold, smokey sweetness of the pan-baked artichokes and the briny peppers. And for dessert, a house-made mango sorbet that provided a fitting denouement to this flavorful, gustatory narrative. My wife and daughter had equally enjoyable meals. I highly recommend Can Mir for the superb food, service,...
Read moreThe food here has the potential to be the best tapas I’ve ever had. I have lived here since 2016 and have had a lot of tapas in that time. The croquettes were fantastic! Unfortunately, the rest of our food was so over-salted, to the point that we were crunching on salt crystals. The pa amb oli was so salty that I couldn’t taste much of the tomato, and the prawns in garlic so salty I couldn’t taste the prawn much. I could taste how well cooked and fresh everything was but the salt was so over-powering. The padron peppers were very salty too but with these it wasn’t a problem as they should be salty, as they were served. I did also find a hair in my food and they forgot to serve us our prawns until we reminded them, as well as forgetting to give us a drinks menu at the beginning and then ask us what...
Read moreWe have had the pleasure to dine here on numerous occasions and are always treated very well. The menu (tapas) are always generous portions and made with the freshest ingredients. In my opinion the best tapas on this side of the island. They can accommodate larger groups but it's always better to book a couple days ahead as the place fills up especially during peak season. The owner (Luis) and staff are always super friendly and will do their best to ensure you have a wonderful experience. Another thing I can appreciate is when other restaurants turn people away without a reservation this team will do whatever they can to try and make space for anyone to join them for a...
