Ca'n Butxaca, Gelateria Artesana 1929 — Restaurant in Pollença

Very confused by all the 5 star reviews. We visited based on the good reviews but the ice cream was bland and definitely not “artisanal”, it tasted mass-produced and had ice crystals like it had melted and been re-frozen. You can get better gelato in London, let alone Italy!

The ice cream could have been forgiven though if not for the awful service. I don’t know if it’s because we’re British or had a small child with us, but the staff were very rude and made it clear we weren’t welcome. This is a great little ice cream parlour. Cheaper than the ones on the seafront in PP and actually I think the ice cream is better! My mint choc chip was superb and not too soft. I would also recommend the coffee too - my cafe con leche was one of the best I’ve had and set me up nicely for my stroll around Pollensa. Can’t wait...

Worth a stop! Coffee ice cream very creamy, not too heavy, and high concentration of coffee - would recommend. The strawberry ice cream was delicious, very rich and tasty, with the mango providing a nice, slightly sour, balance. 6.70EUR for 3 scoops is a good price too, and the seating area inside...
