I was sceptical of the high review scores, but they are completely justified. An unpretentious experience (if you’re looking for glamour then … well, think again and come here anyway!). The food was absolutely superb - highest quality ingredients cooked to perfection; easily the best we experienced during our month in Spain, despite eating well throughout, and certainly amongst the very best we’ve ever experienced anywhere, even when paying considerably more than we did here. The menu gives little detail of what accompanies the “featured” main course, but our experience was that Emma’s husband (Jorge?) discusses this with you, so you get something that’s very much to your liking (we had a wonderful salad as the main accompaniment to our meals, but with lots of other “trimmings”). Should there be nothing that meets your needs on the menu then do discuss those needs with the owners - my wife’s vegetarian, and nothing listed appealed … but Emma offered a couple of options, and after a short discussion she went with a mixed vegetable omelette - which, she assures me, was really special. (My wife’s enthusiasm for this is all the more surprising given the number of omelettes she ate during our trip.) It may have helped that we were eating early evening, while the restaurant was fairly quiet, but it’s well worth a try. I should also mention that the food portions were very generous. Also, with the meal looking to be rather “special” we decided to simply follow Jorge’ recommendation of a wine to go with it, expecting to be offered something fairly expensive - but were delighted when, after confirming that my wife was happy with a red wine, he came up with an excellent mid-priced Ribera del Duero. Other reviewers have mentioned how friendly and welcoming the owners are, and we completely agree; indeed, at one point when our Spanish was inadequate to understand Jorge’s explanation of one of the menu options he FaceTimed his son in Scotland for help with the translation! Altogether a delightfully enjoyable and memorable experience - I hope we’ll be able to...

I would give them 6 stars if I could. We had an amazing meal, very reasonably priced, and great service by the owners. We shared the Bacalhao Emma (cod), more than enough for two. It's hard to see from the picture, but the cod loin was easily more than 500gr (more than one pound). We had a chorizo, ham, and olives plate on the house, as well as a homemade chocolate cake for dessert. Just be patient as everything is cooked to order but so worth the wait. They seem to have opened just a few months ago, but I can see this place becoming very popular in the future once...

After a day and a half flying from Canada to Pontevedra, I was welcomed into Emma’s Cozinha like a friend who had been invited to a family dinner! The fresh bread, tapas, ensalada, codfish “Emma”, broschetta of scampi and one of top grace beef was FANTASTIC!! The chef Linda cooks all the food with love and pride & her husband Fernando is so friendly and a great host. The restaurant has only been opened about a month but the love of the food, the relaxed atmosphere and such friendly people made my welcome to Pontevedra...

We ate at this place like God’s. No joke. 5- Stars is not doing justice to it, if possible we would give more. The owner and his wife were so friendly and kept the Restaurant open for us. For the desert, the jamon & chorizo the owner (Fernando) invited us. The meat was superior and the chocolate cake was from out of this world. In total we payed 32€. If are in the area I highly recommend you the entrecôte & the chocolate cake. Also the other tables looked really happy with their food. Thank you again Stratos & Philippos
