Gumer has been a very nice ending to our trip in Galicia. The service is very friendly and since we don't speak Spanish, we appreciated the staff's willingness to talk in English. The food was great, we had the Tartar de atun rojo (very fresh tuna, I enjoyed the sauce but might be a bit too much for those who like their tartare simple), taco de langostinos (the best tacos we've had since we moved back to Europe) and Ensaladilla de atun rojo escabechado y huevo frito (flavorsome dish with nice acidity). They have a nice selection of wine, they also offer them by the glass although it is not stated on the menu. For the dessert we went with the tiramisu, it was lighter than a regular tiramisu which we appreciated since we were already quite full. The price to quality ratio is amazing given the quality of the ingredients that they use. I'd recommend a reservation since it was a full house by the time we...

We stumbled upon Gumer and it turned out to be the most exceptional surprise of our trip! From the moment we walked in, the experience was flawless. We received such a warm and genuine welcome from our server, Lucas, who made us feel right at home. His recommendations were spot-on and guided us through an incredible meal.

The food was simply amazing. Every dish was prepared with care, but the absolute standouts were the pork tenderloin and the gambas (shrimp) tacos. The tenderloin was cooked to perfection, and the tacos were bursting with fresh, vibrant flavor. I would honestly come back to Pontevedra just to eat those two dishes again!

To top it all off, the value is incredible. For the high quality of the food and the outstanding service, the prices are very decent. Gumer is a fantastic find and I can't recommend it enough. We will...

I was passing through Pontevedra a few weeks ago during my Camino trip. Our guide recommended this restaurant and it was the highlight of our evening. Not only was the food superb, but the service was so warm and welcoming. Everything we ate was wonderful and as the meal came to an end, we were so pleased and distracted with the conversation about the food that my mom forgot her hat. It was a souvenir that she got on a previous trip to the Vatican and keepsake of her time there. We were only in town for one night, but was able to get in touch with the restaurant while we were still in Spain and they remembered us and still had the hat! We gave them our information and it is currently on its way to us. Thank you so much for the hospitality and memorable meal at your restaurant. If life ever brings me back to Pontevedra, I hope to be able to make it back!

I came here with my partner as we got curious with the really good reviews. My friend has mentioned it to me, too but didn't really rave about it—meaning the food for her was "normal". We ordered boquerones, tartar de bonito and wok de langostinos. The boquerones were too oily as they were coated with some kind of tempura. They were fresh, yes. The tartar de bonito was forgettable. My husband prefers the one from Sibuya... The service was really good, though! 😊 All in all, we left disappointed food-wise and price-wise, a bit hungry and decided right then and there not to return. We'd rather spend the money at Quedamos! in Arcade. But you should go and try. Perhaps you'll have a good dining experience.
