The menu del dĂa here is priced at around 13⏠and includes a drink, first course, main course, and either coffee or dessert. The servings are huge, so make sure you arrive hungryâyouâll definitely get your moneyâs worth.
One thing to note: this is not a tapas place. The menu has no âtapaâ option, only âracionesâ (full portions). That means if you order something outside of the menu del dĂa, it comes as a complete plateâgreat for sharing, but not ideal if youâd like to try several dishes on your own.
I have to admit, catching a glimpse of part of the kitchen through a doorway near the toilets was a bit off-putting. Still, I imagine itâs simply due to the buildingâs age, as it used to be a bakery decades ago.
Service was excellent the first time I went with my friend, but the second time I went with my family of 9 people in total, not as much. Seating-wise, they also seat people inside, which is more geared toward diners. The tables in front of the bar, on the other hand, seem made for those just having a glass of wine. That actually makes me wonder if they might have had tapas after allâwe were only offered the lunch menu.
During both my first and second visits, the dining area became uncomfortably hot. Unlike the bar area, the dining room suffers from poor ventilation with no windows or air circulation. The temperature became so oppressive that my husband was visibly sweating throughout our meal, and even my friend visiting from Belgium commented on how stifling the atmosphere was.
This restaurant was recommended to us when I mentioned that weâd like to have some seafood, and Iâd agree it was a strong choice. After nearly a decade of living in Pontevedra, Iâd say their menu del dĂa (at least the one I tried) was well worth itâeasily better than Casa Dignaâs, La DâFranâs, and maybe even O...
Read moreA little bit more than Perfect! I have to confess.... we were so hungry and so tired after out 33 km walk... none of us had some knowledge of Spanish(as 95% of spanish people had no idea of existence of english) but anyway... I got inside and I felt the warmth which I felt last time I visited my grandmother...they wanted us to feel good even if we could not understand any word they say even with that that we were hungry and angry (33 km and we didn't eat for long 8 hours) The food was over all expectation. Just try everything they recommend if you dont know what u want. It will...
Read moreWe ate here in September during the World Triathlon Championships that were in town. All of the food we had was delicious. The free starter was sardine empanadas that were wonderful. We ordered a tortilla and an arroz, and both of those were the best examples (admittedly from a somewhat small sample) that we had in our week in Galicia. The service was also friendly and...
