We had the menú del día at €13.50, which included a first course, main, dessert or coffee, and bread. I chose lentejas and dorada a la plancha. The mains usually come with French fries or boiled (and nicely seasoned) potatoes, but I opted for just a salad. To avoid food waste, it’s worth clearly stating your preference—as I was still served both types of potatoes even though I didn’t want them.
What I really liked was that they brought out a big bowl of lentil soup with a ladle, so I could serve myself the amount I actually wanted. A thoughtful touch that more places should adopt.
Service was impressively fast—probably because they close by 17:00 or earlier. The place is quite small, so definitely book a table. We waited nearly 30 minutes and were seated at 15:00, by which point there were only three options left for both the first and main courses.
That said, both dishes I had were quite tasty. Even though I usually find dorada bland and not to my taste, I actually enjoyed it this time. The lentil soup—though I usually prefer lentejas viudas—was also satisfying. Even my quite picky friend enjoyed it, too. I...
Read moreNeighborhood joint, workmen and locals and these two American tourists trying not to stick out. Lovely ambiente, sitting at the bar for lunch worked great. We ordered the menu del día and got too full to finish it, order only if you are a happy big eater! Lovely service by the owner and his two sons. We saw lots of beautiful fish dishes on the tables. I’ll try to come back for a lunch ración before we leave Pontevedra! This place is a...
