Such an unforgettable experience. My husband and I decided to choose Bardal to celebrate our anniversary. We were greeted and seated in a room in the back when we walked in at 8pm. The room was very basic with white wall, white table cloths, a simple save with some dry flower on the table. No pics, painting, decorations. I though it was boring, but it actually had a purpose. The dishes were indeed the arts of the night, and all we focused on were the food, no other distractions. We reserved the Grand Bardal menu. And it came with about 26 dishes divided into starters, main courses, and deserts. We didn't get the wine pairing. We both got red wine by glass and the waiter was happy to accommodate. The first dish was the soup and we both got stuned with the explosion of different flavors and textures. At this point we know we picked the right place to celebrate our important occasion. Every single dish was a piece of art, inspired by international cuisines but using local/ Andalusian ingredients. One of the staff explained each dish carefully and show us how to eat. By the end of the savory course s, we both were very full. But the desserts were sooooo heavenly that we finished everything. The apple pie was wonderful. The service was top notch. Every detail was perfect. Beautiful silverwares, 100% linen table cloths/napkins, crystal glasses. Flawless culinary experience. Note: you will get full, so come hungry. Or order the small Bardal menu instead of the Grand menu. The whole experience will last about 4hrs (8-11pm)...
Read moreOur lunch at this Michelin-recognized establishment was a pleasant and well-paced culinary experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff offered a warm welcome and promptly guided us to our table. Service throughout the evening was attentive, with our glasses consistently refilled and dishes arriving at a steady, thoughtful rhythm.
The interior, while elegant, had a minor drawback—spare cutlery placed behind us occasionally distracted from our focus on the storytelling and composition of the dishes. The waitstaff were courteous and clearly made an effort to explain each course; however, at times, the local Spanish accent made some of the English explanations difficult to fully grasp. That said, the team was quick to clarify when asked, and their professionalism never wavered.
A small technical issue with the wine preservation system (not due to staff error) resulted in a slight spill, but this did not detract from the overall wine experience, which was otherwise superb.
The food itself was exceptional across the board. Every course was thoughtfully conceived and well-executed, culminating in a standout moment: the second-to-last dessert, an inventive and unexpectedly delightful mushroom-based dish that showed real creativity and finesse.
Overall, this was a polished and rewarding...
Read moreThe food was more pretentious than delicious. I’ve been to tasting menus all over the world and this was by far the very worst. It’s was a narcissist’s self aggrandizing effort. This meal should have been a complete experience of exquisite taste, sublime mouth feel, and beautiful, creative presentation. In reality, it was like attending a concerto played with banjos and washboards and nails scraping across a chalkboard. Most of the wait staff was polished and professional, but one young woman in particular treated us with disdain. Yes, we are American and that concept in itself may be offensive to some Europeans, but perhaps she could have reminded herself who is to serve whom. And that we should all show mutual respect. We also chose the optional wine pairing. Of the seven wines served, it was mostly sweet, and there was only one red. We are at a small cafe the next day in Seville, and had the most delightful duck confit cannoli for 20% of the 500€ dinner at Bardal and it was an absolute delight in contrast. Unless you need to pretentiously and pedantically boast about eating here to your friends, don’t bother. We came for the food. It...
