Chiringuito Nido Playa — Restaurant in Roquetas de Mar

Surprised at the many ‘good’ reviews. We visited evening mid week. Service was bad, friendly when they deigned to appear at our table but otherwise non-existent. Kids pasta was the kind boiled and warmed up, therefore it was soft and doughy and clearly old. We had also ordered pasta with seafood and the same overcooked, left in containers for too long pasta as the kids came. The sauce was the paella sauce, and there was barely any seafood in it. Literally one prawn and 2 clams. Our grilled squid came with the belly insides and the bone in it. They hadn’t even tried to clean it. Tasted burned from a not cleaned grill plate, half cooked and half raw with it’s gloopy insides spilling out. Horrendous! Horrendous meal. We told the waiter, the answer was appalling ‘if u want pasta, go to italy, and the squid is so fresh that we haven’t cleaned it for you especially’ and nothing was taken off the bill. Very nice seafood and fish restaurant, wonderful food and excellent location by the beach, overlooking the sea. Also possible to get meat and other. The restaurant has a lovely dish called seabass in salt, which is a freshly caught fish cooked in a mountain of salt - simply tasteful. Service was outstanding, friendly and service minded, this was the best of the entire visit. We arrived there according to google score that was high but got very disappointed. The food was embarrassing for the price we paid. 8 sardines that wasn't cooked well and some still with blood was more then 10 euro and they were honestly tasteless. Lamb ribs were without meat almost at all with the price of 21 euros (see the picture..that how it was served BEFORE eating). Was a little shocking.
