We were a group of ten people and had a table upstairs. We then ordered different dishes from the menu, not the buffet downstairs. Everything tasted great, and we all had different favourites. Some honourable mentions were the lamb, Mexican tacos and patatas braves.
Also had a funny story from a toilet visit. I started bleeding in my mouth and had to go to the toilet to stop the bleeding with some napkins. I didn’t turn on the light when I went inside(I’m to this date still uncertain if there is any lights there). But there was a candle lit above the urinal. I therefore couldn’t see where I was bleeding from my mouth. Then I tried carrying the candle from the urinal to the sink. The candlecontainer was in, was really hot. Too hot to carry. I then had a small burn in my one arm, and in the other I tried to stop my lip from bleeding.
After some thinking I figured out I could use my napkin as a potholder. I then put it on the sink and I could see where I bleed from my mouth, and kept pressure on the right place to stop the bleeding.
After a minute or to the bleeding stopped. All I had to do was put the candle back to the urinal. And when I tried lifting it I lost it in the sink. All of the stearin went all over the sink, onto my shirt, on my shorts and all the way down to my feet. I then had to try wash my feet, shorts and shirt. There weren’t any air con in the toilet. So I had a really bad sweat and the stearin never went to a firm form. So all I did was butter the stearin all over everywhere. And after all this I started bleeding again.
So now I had to stop the bleeding again. And now I had been here for so long that I was worried someone might come ask me if everything was alright. Then I had to use more napkins to stop the bleeding while still trying, without lights, to clean my legs, shirt and shorts as well as the sink.
I eventually stopped bleeding, and put the candle nicely back were it belonged on the urinal and could take a last drying of my sweat and return to my group and tell them this funny story.
Thank you for a great dinner and a nice story. And sorry if there was some stearin left...

I visited Can Pintxo years ago, and had a memorable steak there. I have to say, when I returned recently and saw the menu was very different, I was a little skeptical. I arrived early at 6.30pm with no booking, just as the doors opened. I was offered a choice between a table and a seat at the large, informal dining bar that blends into the open kitchen and opted for the latter. I was there on my own for a while to enjoy ..!
The menu can be savored tapas-style, or as a structured three-course meal. Note that this is not your standard “pincho bar” offering a sad looking anchovy or dried tortilla on a piece of bread with a cocktail stick. This is gastronomy at its best. I began with the cappuccino de verduras, followed by steak tartare, and finished with the intriguingly named bun in black.
To highlight:
The waiting staff - a rare blend of discretion, polish, and professionalism - so hard to find... The chefs, immaculate and suave, engaged in low, light-hearted banter that infused the air with a relaxed, amiable vibe. As I settled at the bar with a glass of wine and my book, I blended in.
The Atmosphere: It’s an Instagrammer’s paradise here. Old silent movies (Charlie Chaplin, or it might have been Stan and Ollie) flickered on a large screen, casting a nostalgic charm. The lighting is soft, the unique design of the bar area make it the ideal spot for singles or couples to drink or dine. The decor, unique and hip, is well thought out. There is a certain vibe here that’s hard to find outside Palma.
The Food: OUTSTANDING. All immaculately presented. The cappuccino de verduras was probably the best dish I’ve ever tasted, ever! It defies description—just try it. The steak tartare was fresh and delicious, also something not found frequently on the menu in Mallorca. The dessert, very chocolaty, hits all the right notes without being sickly. The wine, perfectly chilled and well recommended. A flawless 10/10 across every dimension. Can’t...
Read moreFaultless pinxo restaurant. For those that don't know what this implies, then I suggest you look it up. But suffice to say, the quality is excellent but don't expect a huge slab of meat or fish and two veg on a plate. You choose from a selection of ready made Pinxos , or from an extensive menu of made to order (and bijou delicious) individual servings from an extensive menu. You pay according to the 'pinxo' (stick) embedded in each portion, so keep track of them as you eat.
Personally, I suggest "browsing" a couple of ready made pinxos from the display (remember, you pay according to the 'pinxo' or stick in each portion) then order a couple of freshly made-to-order pinxo dishes from the kitchen. They are all delicious and beautifully crafted, and two or three ordered, plus a couple of starters, should be more than sufficient per person. Note: they are all individual portions so although sharing is fun, don't destroy the effort that has gone into preparing each hand crafted dish - ie. some can be slightly awkward to share (try sharing a single egg between three people, for example!).
Ambience is fantastic - the place buzzes both inside and on the narrow street terrace outside, because of two main things.
First, the food and wine ( the House ' Macià Batle ' red or White is excellent!) is of really good quality and the robust wines combine well with the food, all of which is delicious, hot, fresh and beautifully prepared and presented.
Two: the staff. They are charming and absolutely excellent, work as a well honed team, and are meticulous in client/customer service. Eat Pinxos and a bottle of house wine here and you won't be disappointed. Highly...
