Clearly couldn't care less.
We've had drinks in the Café before, but tonight thought we'd try a wee evening bite to eat while enjoying the ambience of the square.
1st strike - despite being VERY quiet, they wouldn't seat us (2) at any of the empty tables for 4 which border the fountain, where we wanted to sit. If they had been busy I'd have understood and not even requested it, but those tables remained empty.
2nd strike - the menu you're given is nothing like the menu on the website. Having had a look before we visited, we had an idea of what we wanted - none of which is featured on the menu you're given when you are seated.
3rd strike - the couple next to us had no menu. No worries, after being seated, and realising the menu was different, we'd none the less chosen the dishes we wanted, so we gave them one of ours. 5 minutes later, a waiter came to take THEIR order - they weren't ready, and asked for more time.
The waiter then went back into the restaurant.
For the next 5 minutes, we watched waiters stand around, go in and out, tidy tables - basically, do everything except come and take our order.
At which point we gave up and went elsewhere.
With so many fantastic places to eat in Sóller (and seemingly) more each month, I'm not wasting time in one which shows such basic disregard for...
Read moreIn early May, my wife and I enjoyed a delightful lunch at Café Sóller, located in the vibrant heart of Sóller, Mallorca. We each ordered a single dish, and what an excellent choice that was! The food was incredibly tasty, prepared with fresh, local ingredients that perfectly captured the authentic flavors of the island. Every bite was a treat. The service was not only friendly but also remarkably efficient, creating a relaxed and enjoyable experience. We sat on the large terrace along the street, which offered a lively atmosphere with a charming view of Sóller. Inside, the temperature was pleasantly cool thanks to the air conditioning, which would have been a great option on a warmer day. What made this experience even better was the very attractive price. For the high quality of the dish and the service, the bill was surprisingly affordable. Café Sóller combines a charming location, delicious food, and warm hospitality in a perfect blend. We can’t...
Read moreThe experience we had here was mixed. The carrot cake was delicious and the berry hot chocolate was probably one of the best I have ever had. I definitely recommend them. The berries are at the bottom of the hot chocolate and as you stir the flavors melt into the chocolate. My fiancé also enjoyed the ham sandwich.
One member of our group ordered the pasta and unfortunately we wish we had read the reviews about it before ordering. They didn’t finish their meal which is unlike them as the pasta was undercooked and tasted like it had been microwaved. I would definitely avoid ordering this, €15 for undercooked pasta was a big disappointment. This is the sole reason for my review only being 3 stars as everything else was great.
Tables are turned over quickly which was good as we didn’t have to wait long for a table and despite this we didn’t real rushed when eating. I would definitely return here, but maybe stick to the cake...
