Boca Boca Salou — Restaurant in Salou

We went here after seeing good reviews before. Tho for us, 4 adults and 3 kids, what a disaster. We 1st ordered drinks. 4 drinks came from the person that took our order. Then 3 of the same drinks came from another staff member, who we told we were still waiting on different drinks. 10 minutes later a different person came with the 3 drinks we had been waiting for,plus another 2 drinks that we had sent back previously. I made a complaint to management,the original staff member came over talking in Spanish,they both had a laugh and I was told our bill would have 10% deducted. Then, time to order dinner. We all ordered something different. We received 3 of the same dishes on 2 different occasions,still drinks coming that we didn't order. After our food finally came,my wife didn't receive her order, I asked the person that originally took our order and she told me it will be 2-3 mins. We all finished our dinner and my wife still was waiting on hers. Again a complained to the staff member who just laughed at me. So I went back to the manager who told me they are cooking the burger now,I told him to cancel that order, he got angry and shouted at the chef,then left the restaurant,standing outside. 5 mins later my wife's burger came out with no fillings in the burger except guacamole. So, disappointed. We then asked for the 3 ice creams for the kids. Still,we waited 25mins after asking 3 different people about it, 1 of whom was the original staff member who took the order,who spent the time throwing ice cubes at another staff member,funnily enough.that was also the same place the ice creams were kept that she could have easily lifted out and given to the kids. Again, having to go outside to complain about our whole experience to the manager,he agreed with me. Telling me that every night is the same and there is nothing he can do as the staff don't want to work and don't care. My partner got an ‘English’ breakfast here as we got previous English breakfasts from other places and they lived up to expectations of what an English breakfast includes. Feeling hopeful he ordered it and it was far from what he expected from what was advertised in the menu. The sausages were Spanish not English which were spicy, he got one single mushroom (small not big mushroom), toast was barely toasted etc.

When he first talked to the manager, they said that he had already eaten most of it but he could get him something else. However, my partner had only eaten one slice of bacon, cut into one egg, had one slice of bread and tried the sausage. The manager started to become stand-off-ish and told my partner he was wrong. The manager’s attitude was too much and my partner just wanted to leave and for it to be removed from our bill. Also, when my partner said that there was a single, small mushroom for a fry which cost €9.90, the manager said there was 2 and did not believe that there was only 1. When he pulled out a menu to prove us wrong, there were actually FOUR in the menu image, which was quite embarrassing for the manager.

After another back and forth, talking to the manager was getting nowhere due to his defensive attitude. The manager offered free drinks, however, whenever we went up to pay, he changed his mind to 20% off. At this point, we just paid and left as the manager was being unreasonable.

We are very disappointed as we have eaten at 3 of the other restaurants in the chain of businesses in the area and we have always been happy with the meal and service. We will not be returning back to this particular...

This rating will probably come off as snobby, but it's honest and if you look at my other reviews you'll see I don't give bad ratings often. Majorly disappointed with this place after reading the amazing reviews. Was here tonight for dinner with my family. Menu looked great and we were warmly welcomed in and brought to our table. Place was very busy and atmosphere was great so we had high standards. Firstly, menu was online, they only had a limited selection of printed ones. This was fine, if the online one actually worked. We ordered our food anyways and after a long wait, we got it. Was disappointed with the size of my BBQ burger compared to the picture on the menu. Obviously, it's not going to be the same but it was a bit underwhelming. It was tasty though, and my family enjoyed their well-presented food. I also ordered a strawberry daiquiri but it tastes very off, unlike other ones I've tried. After that we ordered desert. We surprised to see they had no dirty of chocolate cake/brownie but that's just me being picky. I ordered the Nutella crepe. It arrived cold, and arrived 10 minutes before everyone else's desserts. That was also disappointing. My mum ordered the after eight ice cream, after taking a spoon she realised it contained almonds, and she had a bit allergy. This is extremely dangerous, and it's not outlined on the menu. Luckily, her allergy isn't terrible so she was okay. The toilets are nice and compact but the floor was covered in urine. Really let down with this place and the only thing that saved it from one star is the fact the floor staff were so helpful...
